If you could provide some info on what class you play as now, where you are in the game and what kind of issues you're having, people might be able to provide you with some decent advice. Food for thought

Sorry. I'm a Sorcerer and I'm only in the Undead Burg. I can't seem to make it past this point. I will keep my shield up more often. Maybe that is my problem

i remember walking through there like a turtle in the beginning. shield up, wait for an attack, counter.
also try to lure 1 enemy at a time towards you.
are you having trouble with a boss or regular baddies?
