SF4's inputs ARE easy inputs (Shortcut DP anyone?). Anything easier than that is pandering to casuals, and isn't really unnecessary. Darkstalkers has alot of Raging Demon type supers. To get rid of that would be to take away from what experienced players have learned.
What I meant by "easy" was that I'm better with doing a single directional input plus a button or a series of buttons instead of doing 2 directional inputs plus a button or a series of buttons.
Ryu's Metsu/Shinku Hadoken was QCFQCF+all 3 punches, while in both SFxTK and UMvC3, it's just QCF (one directional input) + all 3 punches, or 2 attack buttons. The problem with having 2 inputs is that sometimes it gets an EX move or standard move instead of the real thing, just because you were off by a degree. It just becomes too sensitive/picky when 2 inputs are used.

1. Rattlesnake Naga Woman: Torso will be a beautiful woman while her lower half will be a rattlesnake. An Egyptian theme would be nice. Something like this http://browse.deviantart.com/?q=egyptian+naga#/d5ge07r
2. Drider Woman: Torso will be a beautiful woman while her lower half is a spider. Maybe make her into a business drider woman.
3. Centauress: Torso will be a beautiful woman while her lower half is a horse. She can be a warrior type.
Returners
1. Everyone from DarkStalkers Chronicle The Chaos Tower
2. MvC2: Amingo & Ruby Hearts
Stages
1. All the old ones from DS:CTCT
2. New stages
For now that's all I can think of. ^I hope all of this comes true or even add them for dlc. - Dec 6, 2012 6:33 pm GMTSuplexKirby posted...

1) If we're talking about Egypt, then a cobra-lady would be more appropriate
2) I don't know if it would be feasible to get a decent animation cycle for a spider in a fighting game. I will say that having a human-shaped woman with black and light grey skin, red hair, dark eyes, fangs, four spider legs sprouting from her back and a small abdomen where her butt should be (I'm hoping for a small one because a big one would be awkward) would be a suitable character. Elise from League of Legends is a good example.
3) Again, the animation might be problematic. If I can give you an example, that's why Motaro the demonic centaur wasn't included as a boss character nor as a playable character in MK9 because the animation was too complex for a 2D fighter in 3D. Having to deal with hitboxes, hurtboxes, cross-ups, grabs and such is gonna be difficult.

Amingo isn't really a monster. If they want a Mexican rep they'd need a chupacabra.
The thing is that Amingo was supposed to be a Darkstalker, but got scrapped. However, since that came out and that he appeared in MvC2, people have been wanting him back in his rightful place.
Was there ever confirmation of this? But if he was scrapped, it's honestly not hard to see why, he doesn't fit the style of the series at all. We already have Felicia and Sasquatch to fill the roles of light-hearted comic relief. Like I said earlier, Darkstalkers needs to go back to it's roots when it comes to adding new cast members, not overflowing the game with characters who look like they belong somewhere else.

I disagree, I think Amingo screams Darkstalkers. From the very first moment I saw I him, I thought he was a preview of a future DS character. Hopefully that will come true someday.

Okay, not to sound rude, but how the Hell could you mistake him for a DS character? How does a big fat cactus with a sombrero and poofy pants fit into the Gothic Horror theme of Darkstalkers?

Member of The Phoenix Force - Dec 8, 2012 10:39 am GMTI knew of Rubyheart and Amingo but I never knew of DD, Rook, and Death. DD and Rook sound and look friggin awesome. Electricity/lightning is my favorite element, and I don't think there really is a full on electric character (I guess Victor kinda was, but he was more of a grappler with a lightning element). And Angels are cool, and he looks like he'd be really awesome.
Death is always cool, but I don't think he's necessary because I kind of feel Jedah fits the role of "Death". But I'd still love it. Really never liked Ruby and Amingo but whatever. At least use concepts for these characters into new characters.
As for other features:
-EVERYBODY returning. This isn't Street Fighter where there's a zillion playable characters in the universe. There's less of an excuse to not include everyone
-Arcade mode with endings
-Other single player modes that aren't just "lol dew diz c0mbO"
-Unlockables. Actual good unlockables. I would love unlockable characters and outfits but......*sigh* it's Capcom. And fighting games these days are becoming allergic to good unlockables sadly. Still doesn't hurt to ask.
-New moves for characters
I also agree with character suggestions like a Dullahan, a Oni (preferably a more "Onimusha" like Oni not those big ogre like ones. It would be a nice tribute to Onimusha as well), and some kind of vampire hunter guy (that Will dude sounds like he'd be cool).

If JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle can have someone riding on a horse @6:48 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9Eh9Sh1ZR8 then I'm sure a centaur can happen. You are right about Motaro, he was only in cutscenes and that's it. - Dec 8, 2012 6:36 pm GMTSuplexKirby posted...

Hmmm... interesting. However, that game is a 3D fighter, not a 2D one, the horse doesn't seem to be targetable, only the rider is, and the horse seems to remain on its side instead of being completely facing the opponent. Hard to tell how it would be in a 2.5D fighter.
The concerns I have about a centaur characters are as follow:
- The height, we're talking about the height of Hugo here, and that by itself could be problematic for jumping over it.
- The boxes, how it is gonna be balanced? The hindquarters might be invulnerable when they should be, or might be conflicting when attacking with cross-ups.
- The stance, while you can have the centaur standing sideways, it doesn't represent it correctly since it would typically face the opponent normally.
- The attacks, combined with the height and the stance, that might difficult to balance it out.
- The other special attacks, since all other characters are humanoid-shaped, any character that doesn't have the same shape might be difficult to adjust.
That's why I'm a bit skeptical about seeing a centaur-like character in DS4. From a technical point, it's much harder to do than a humanoid. Kudos if they can pull it off, but I'm not expecting one soon.

Morrigan
Lilith
Felicia
Demitri
L. Raptor
Jedah
B.B Hood
Jon Talbain
Bishamon
DROP
Pyron
Sasquatch
Victor
Rikuo
Huitzil
Anyone else I'm forgetting
-Add in 10 all new characters to replace the dropped ones. I'd like the game to pull a SF3
-Story mode that basically acts as a tutorial on how to use each character OR something tantamount to SFA3's World Tour mode or the single player in the first Soul Calibur
-"Super"-boss for single player arcade mode. Like the MvC bosses
-Great stages with reactionary backgrounds. I haven't been impressed by stages in fighters at all this gen. I feel like something's lost with 2.5D gfx when it comes to stages but I just can't pin down what it is.
-In all honesty though I'd like the game to be just be HD sprites and look gorgeous like KoFXIII but we're probably gonna get a 2.5D game
-Team Battle mode
-No DLC. I know I'm shooting high here but I'd like a ton of actual hidden characters, unlockable costumes, stages, modes, etc.

You're joking right? You want another case like SSFIVAE, where everyone is asking to add returning characters?
For DS, we're talking about only 18 characters here, it's not that much compared to the SF cast.

Actually I played KoF 13 and liked what I saw. What I meant was in any non-2D game this gen cuz SSF2THDR had good stages too. But see I don't expect DS4 to be HD sprites. I think I remember a Capcom dev saying he'd like to work with 2.5D gfx if he were to make a DS game.

Do you even know what "misogynistic" means? How are the designs of those characters in any way indicative that Akiman hates women? I'd say it's quite the opposite! I also don't know how they affect the quality of the gameplay.
No needlessly complex inputs.
I can't remember there being any in Vampire Savior.Maintain the quality of previous Darkstalkers stage design, music, & sound effects. They need to retain the excellent character design of past games as well.
Good luck at that with Funamizu and almost all the rest of Capcom's old talent gone.

No, the one who doesn't know the meaning of the word is you. Sure, they're hypersexualized, but if he was truly misogynistic then Morrigan wouldn't be the Strongest Darkstalker.

You Just a Funny Guy with Peanut Butter Brown Honey Eyes RIP Canibus 06/09/2012 - Dec 16, 2012 3:23 pm GMTI just hope for it not to suck. Ono and Dimps studio are not the 1990's Capcom R&D team led by Noritaka Funamizu and Yoshiki Okamoto.
Yeah, I'm just glad this collection is coming out. That way, when this "DS4" is released akin to SF4, I can simply ignore it and stick with the iconic originals that defined the series' greatness.
Maybe it will be pleasantly surprising somehow. But I just know that treating a new Darkstalkers like SF4 will not work imo. - Dec 20, 2012 2:17 pm GMTThe strongest Darkstalker isn't Morrigan, just for everyone's info. The Japanese lore states that the 3 high nobles of Makai are the most powerful beings in the Vampire mythos. They are:
Belial Aensland (a giant, untouchable mass of power)
Galnan (or Garunan) Voshtal
Jedah Dohma
In the third Vampire game, only Jedah is classified as an "S class" being. Morrigan is merely "capable" of becoming S class herself.... only after absorbing Lilith. And Jedah is personally responsible for literally giving Lilith back to Morrigan. This is likely because he doesn't see Morrigan as a threat whatsoever -- it is adult Anita who he sees as a potential obstacle to his plans. Anita is not a darkstalker, but is immensely powerful on the other side (in the Human World).
In the Demon Realm, Jedah wants the strongest beings assembled so that he can absorb their souls. He believes this is necessary in order to save Makai from total oblivion. Furthermore, this quest would give him the ability to transcend beyond the Majigen into the Human World, which he also plans to make over in his signature way. Morrigan is just another tasty morsel on his plate. Anita is the only one he's partially concerned about.
All the talk about Morrigan being the strongest in the Darkstalkers universe is coming from either uneducated crossover fans who know nothing about the entire series or rabid Morrigan fanboys. Yeah, I love our favorite Succubus a great deal too. She's iconic. But the fact is, she never canonically fights Jedah.... and even WITH Lilith she still isn't more powerful than he is. She'd only be able to give him a virtually even fight as her complete self.
From there... the difference is, Jedah is virtually indestructible and has canonically been reincarnated even after being obliterated due to absorbing too much power at once. In game, most of his moves involve instant regeneration from fatal decapitations -- which he is insatiably delighted by. He is literally the DS version of Death, with all of its inevitability intact.
Udon comics aren't canon. They're not written by anyone who created the official video games at Capcom R&D Japan -- that staff is no longer there. Before breaking up, the only two major fights that the original late 90's Capcom R&D team stated as canon were:
Demitri vs Pyron (in which Demitri consumes him). Japanese Vampire Savior manual confirms it.
-and
Jedah vs Demitri (at the end of the events of Vampire Savior). Special track on the audio CD confims it.
I believe the canon will be changed and retconned due to fanboy influence someday, but these are facts as of today. Once Ono & Dimps Studio's "DS4" game is made, expect everything to officially shift around fanboy favorites. They already started it with MvC3 Morrigan.
