Is it meant to be serious? come on, it looks less serious than left4dead. Serieus is making use of Horror, creepy atmosphere with scary ambient music and dark scenery. Dead Island looks more like some tropical fun visceral lean back zombie slashing mayhem.
@basbasa How does this make you a hunter? Theres zombies everywhere. Its not like you target one specific zombie in order to go kill it,rather hunt it. Nobody here has played this game,and they dont know whats in store for us. At any time you can be ambushed,and at any time you can always be caught off guard.
So this will be just another shooter with zombies... As far as I've seen and read there really isnt much survivability going on. This game would've been interesting with starvation, depression, insanity, building fortresses, crafting etc... I'll wait for Project Zomboid. Developers keep in mind that gameplay makes a game, NOT graphics. In a Zombie game you should be the hunted NOT the hunter!
I think at one point he chopped "The Situation's" head of with a meat cleaver, 10 points =D
i love the ideas of zombies now there is a zombie game with GOOD GRAPHICS NAD DETAILED ZOMBIES unlike left 4 dead 1&2. definitely gonna buy it
This game seems like it's going to be what dead rising could have been. I don't want time management and weapons constantly breaking in my zombie games.
it looks very promising indeed. yet it looks like it has taken ideas from many different games, just wonder if they will mesh well together.
why didn't anyone ask about the "ultra-realistic" damage? that's mostly what i'm interested in. i want to see the extent of that but most of the time when they attack zombies on these videos, all you see is blood and not the bodily damage.
1) What's up with all the hate for this game? Yeah, it's a zombie game. Whining about that is like going "AMG ANOTHER HUMAN SHOOTING GAME" whenever an FPS comes out. 2) What's up with the comments here? Are most of you borderline illiterate? I regularly read the GS stories/comments, and these have by far been the most difficult to read--not just netspeak, but like... incoherent to the max. At first I thought it was just a couple, but as I go down I can't help but feeling I got stupider by trying to read some of this stuff.
even if the game sucks that 3 min backwards trailer still needs to win a award for best trailer.

Its a cute video - he's obviously smitten with her (you can't blame him) and she's still learning to ask questions without stuttering. Oh, and the game looks great. Can't wait to play it.
a good question would be, are you gonna release the game unfinished, and will we have to suffer with glitches for the 1st month? (until an update is out)
I have mixed feelings as well. Veiwing the trailer, I actually got chills. Emotional, survival Horror, like the good ol zombie films from the master himself: George Romero. The trailer left me thinking, that survival looks to be key. After the latest review, thier talking lving up, exploding knives, no chainsaws?! I'm like oh man, with lving up there goes the survival element. Instead of lving up how about learning to barricade, weapon making, medical, and basic survival like, eating,sleeping. Still looks like it going to be a fun game regardless, but common, I jonesin for a zombie survival simulation sort to speak. Not L4D with action rpg elements. Beggers cant be choosers I guess.
Damn... Gamestop has a release date of August 2nd. Oh well whats another month other than a full month. Damn...
oh but i am slightly worried about the EX pop up all the time, this could ruin the experience, please get rid!!!!!!!!
This game looks sik the locations and atmosphere look awesome. glad they went for the more serious adult story. pre order this for sure. have a good feeling about this one....DeuaEx before this though, get in.....
I remember when Resident Evil was the only game synonymous to Zombies..now even COD gotta Zombie game. So much "originality" with todays Developers. Idea-less all for a Quick Buck. Nothing But Zombie Hype in the end.
I don't get all the criticism, this game looks awesome! Can't wait to add it to my collection!

@ Adenosine I agree with your ideas. That would be awesome. But of course console DLC is ruining the modding community. They will do like EA is doing to BF3 and not supplying modding tools. That of course would limit there DLC sales and future revenue as it would put this games life at 3 or 4 years and that would hurt there sales if they wanted to put out a recycled sequel every year ala COD. The video game industry is going to hell.

i think this game might be good but trailer overhyped the game already people gonna get alittle bit disappointed
