it's bargain priced now, so it's a worthwhile purchase, but the gore, Isaac's swearing, and the finicky QTE's mean its not for everyone. I thought DS1 handed me some pretty cheap deaths, so IMO go for 2 over 1.
Anyone know why Gamespot gave the PS3 version a higher rating than the other versions? Just curious.
@mctelinde Wondering the same... I'm considering buying it and DS one, but I would like to know what is superior on the PS3.
Might need a little break after finishing Dead Space before I jump into this one.... Im not scared.... I just like a little variety. Maybe some De Blob 2. :D
as i can see that joypads/gamepads/controllers suck.. better playing using a mouse.. and also there shouldn't be slow turning ability as he calls it with a mouse..
I've just finished the first one; the ending was... Well... Play the first one, you will definitely want to play more! This franchise looks just what Resident Evil should never have ceased to be.
1 Like @3rdangel DS2 is even scarier. There are like no lights through most of the areas you explore, except for your small flash light which only turns on when you aim. A lot more shit popping out at isaac too. Plus everything is more detailed lol. Its bittersweet, big scare but big enjoyment.
1 Like Got both Dead Space games on a super steam sale (both we're $5) and am loving the heck out of them.
Picked up this game at BIGW for $28, what a blast! Never played the first one so had no idea what to expect, it's moody, atmospheric and downright gory but the guns are solid and the graphics are superb...worth the money for sure.
@RAINFALLS2000 Ahem: GTA IV, Splinter Cell, Resident Evil 4 and 5, Gears of War 1, 2, and 3, Tomb Raider, Max Payne, Hit Man, Uncharted, Red Dead: Redemption.
This is a very good game besides some incredibly difficult parts on survivalist mode definetly one of my favorite games from last year p.s. captain_soomro of course your 7 year old brother can beat the game on easy that is why the difficulty is called ####ing easy
What i hate about the multiplayer is being a necromorphe , i cannot play with them at all.
Damn get over the reviewer's personal situation. It was a great review and her voice is one that just works with game reviews. I played the demo and it scared the sh** out of me. What makes it worse is it takes far too long to kill the aliens. Especially when you are used to more realistic based shooters. I'll definitely give this a bigger chance though from all the positives I've read. I'll probably have to play with all of the lights on and the sound muted though haha!
I actually thought the team-based multiplayer was pretty tedious after a very short time.
Great game!Sometimes too difficult though...And Nicole's character got different face than she had in first game,if you notice:)
amazing game!!! Sometimes the controls can be a tad clunky but overall it is awesome... and also if you have the ps3 version you get dead space extraction for free!!
@santinegrete Yes I have Amnesia but I've never gotten around to play it. All around I've heard how good it is but there are simply too many games to play. Thanks for the reminder though.
@bostadskontrakt It is a good game. But I can recommend you a real horror game: Amnesia the Dark Descent. This game is more action than horror.
I've never crapped my pants so much in a game, its freaking horrible! Brilliant though! Easy 9 for me.
It's probably a good game I guess, I just need to get my head around that it's not a real horror game that everyone keeps saying, it seems to be more of a dark-atmosphere-oh-no-they're-after-me-splatter-shooter. Not the same thing at all.
@bostadskontrakt well horror just means its scary for people! and most people find this game terrifying, even if it is full of shooting and action. Its very frightening action.
As much as I liked this review, I am glad I didn't watch it before I finished the game. All of those moments or enemies you never see coming make for a better game experience, in my opinion.
