Where did you think the story was going? This game has a story to it, and it's inevitable that you'll be fighting against the people that want you dead. I don't see why you're so concerned since you have no intention of supporting the developers who made it.

Dude your argument has no merit here. Your basing your entire argument on 1 fight that ends before it even starts.

Dead Space 1 and 2 were both worth the full price tag, and 3 is keeping the same things but adding more. I don't see what the problem is. Essentially, the new outdoor areas are going to be an additional flavor to the gameplay, like the zero-g areas.

Before 2 released, everyone was ranting about how the additional action was going to ruin it. And then, for most people, it played just like the first. Same atmosphere, gameplay, visuals, everything.

What exactly about what is being shown makes you think this is anything different from what we've had before? And don't focus on what was shown at E3, the devs have already stated that was to get the co-op and such out of the way first off.

    This game will be awesome

He look, another twit who doesn't realise that the devs like showing off new features rather than showing off things the players have seen in two different games.

Besides, it's not as if there's a 20 minute video showing off all the new features right?

    Yes offence.

Which is kind of a dumb strategy on their part.

They should showcase the new, while still demonstrating the old.

They have shown more old than new at this point.

Ah cool, then why are people complaining?

Note: I've been avoiding pretty much all info because I don't wanna be spoiled.

They didnt remove the horror, just half of it,they said it themselves.

They said they love how crapcom has destroyed the RE franchise by turning it into action for a bigger audience and they want to do the same thing.

This is not a full DS game that we want and expect, its half of that(maybe even less),the other half is a military cover based shooter in which you can take cover behind objects and do combat rolls/dodging to avoid being hit by bullets, not necromorphs,BULLETS.

Issac is an engineer, not an experienced war veteran like Marcus Fenix from Gears or some other military cover based shooter.

I forgot to add that DS was never meant to be co-op otherwise the devs would have said that when and before the first DS came out.Only recently have I heard people saying this stuff. They are using that as an excuse to justify adding co-op to this game which alot of people are against, such as myself. They knew alot of people would be against it so they had to come up with some lame excuse.

This game was meant to be a single player survival horror experience from the beginning to the end.

Feel free to correct me if Im wrong.

IIRC, Issac was an engineer in a military service.

So he'd be capable of defending himself... mix in two games of action/horror experience....

Issac was an engineer in the employ of the CEC, a planet cracking mining company. Nothing military about them.

I've avoided a lot of new footage, but even from what I saw before, this just seems more and more like an overstatement. For all we know, we might be able to dodge necromorphs as well, like the cutscenes in old games only now able to be played through in real time, like with the drag tentacles.

A little positivity goes a long way. Perhaps we should see how DS3 actually plays before judging it?

Look like they were a bit more than that.

Did some checking, he was in the Merchant Marines - which apparently had to do with maintaining security on shipping lanes.

An engineer, yes, but clearly in a potentially dangerous environment.

The DS Merchant Marines seem to have more military emphasis than the US Merchant Marines we have today. However, if it is a war time or maritime/anti-piracy detachment, he is required basic (implied military) training aboard ships and weapons handling.

DS2 improves on DS in nearly every single way. problem with DS2 is that you're having too much fun to be scared.~sc0ttmst

    I understand what your saying.

But Issac is wearing a heavy space suit, there is no way he could perform combat rolls. The devs actually admitted that but threw it in anyway cuz this is now more of a shooter instead of "survival horror".
  • Nov 5, 2012 10:05 am GMT
    Wait, combat rolls? O_o

Well, looks like they screwed up - given how the suit auto covers his head, they could have said it's a movement assist suit or something. XD

VandorLee, not to be rude, but if you are only willing to pay 10$ for this game anyway, why are you complaining? Its rude to the dev and fans to say such a thing and then DEMAND and DEMEAN them for not holding their game to your standards.

That said, having enemies with guns is the natural progression to this series. I dont want whole hours of GoW style shoot outs and cant imagine they'll do such. But the story isnt just about Issac flailing around in ships surviving necromorphs. It ALSO become about stopping the production and infection of civilization and the very HUMAN people behind this, so fighting living people makes sense.

You seem to compare DS to SH, which is fine. But where SH was a very civilian and small church, the church and worshippers in DS are more. Theyre civilians and military combined, some of the biggest head of military backing it. So saying "Well, SILENT HILL didnt have shoot outs" is a weak comparrison. Of course they didnt. Thats not who they were.

Did no one read Martyr? The followers of the marker are crazy, they believe evil space rocks will make them immortal and Issac wants to destroy those space rocks. Why would they not try to kill him?
