- Nov 30, 2012 7:45 am GMTwhen they announced co op i was terrified ever since the news single player will stay single player i have never been happier.

DS2 improves on DS in nearly every single way. problem with DS2 is that you're having too much fun to be scared.~sc0ttmst50% Flood, 8% green hat kid, 30% guy with a big sword, 12% Infested Terran
402 LUEshi Rides again! I'm immune to flames, they don't bother me.
- Nov 30, 2012 12:31 pm GMTwhats so funny about this post
- Nov 30, 2012 3:11 pm GMTthis is the first time Dead Space series goes into co-op, so i will just wait until the game comes out and play a single campaign first then i wil try out co-op to see how is different is from resident evil so until now i just gonna leave it like that, beside co-op is not that bad if they know what to do.
- Dec 11, 2012 6:20 am GMTYeah this isn't Capcom I'm not too worried about it.

Gamertag: Cpt of Industry - Dec 12, 2012 12:30 am GMTTo answer your question honestly? No I'm actually very excited about DS3 Co-op. Not in the same sense that I liked RE5's co o. The way Visceral Games is doing co-op is almost genius (That may sounds insane but serious) Not only is it not forced co-op. But they even added additional story elements to the game, areas and situations that would make co-op playable.
And before I hear "Oh co op ruins everything that is DS blah blah blah" People need to realize that..It's OPTIONAL. Meaning that you HAVE a choice to play it or not. Most likely people (I know I will) Will play through the game single player. After a few playthroughs getting used to DS3 I would totally head to co-op just to see the difference is the added story and new character.

- Dec 17, 2012 1:44 pm GMTIt'll probably turn out like RE.
Why do people feel the need to put s*** cover systems into horror games. And since they added co-op, there goes the horror.

To be fair...
Hard to do on gamefaqs, but I'm going to give it a chance.
A gamer whom opposes co-op, in horror or any game. You know those who hate it, with a passion. What Dead Space 3 is doing, is kind of *****. It is much worse than forced co-op...
Because a gamer plays games, that's what we do. It's the hobby we choose. A lot of us want to experience the full product, and enjoy doing so. Now back to those with an extreme dislike for single-player games going Co-op. What they get is, kind of mean. Not only is co-op added, you are actually punished for not playing co-op. Missing elements of a game, missing out on story in a story driven game unless you do co-op is forced. This is actually forced co-op. more so then Resident Evils "forced" co-op.
I wouldn't call it optional, because at first I had no desire to play co-op. Until I heard I would be missing out on content, now I'm busy trying to find somebody to play Dead Space 3 with.

It is not, but not because they didn't want to, they can't as it would interfere with things that happen.
Due to them both having dementia they both see and hear things at different times, you click to play a holotape while Isaac hears what is actually being said, Carver hears his dead wife. And vice versa. If they were to make it split screen, things like that wouldn't go well since it would be blending the audio together and would sound weird.

It has more to do with the fact that Dead Space 3 could not be played in splitscreen without seriously sacrificing the visual fidelity.

Except I'm sure the elements you experience in co op, that are not in single player, are to do with your partner (like him thinking you're a necromorph). You know content that REQUIRES another person... It wouldn't be in single player where it is JUST YOU. Unless you want a AI following you around like in RE5 single player?

You can play single player and still understand the entire story. Stop being a pretentious all deserving gamer, I've slowly seen our community turn to that and it's insane.

Completely agreed.
Infinity Ward (developers of Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2) did it right when they only put single-player achievements in their games. Which is exactly the opposite of what you'd expect considering some people only play the games for multiplayer.
