Dead Space Video Review

i may be the only one i think i prefer isaac being a silent protagonist instead of talking like in the other games

Hey guys do this to maximize the tension of the atmosphere: Turn the music off. Normally the BGM intensifies when danger is coming, but with that 'indicator' off, you really shit the pants.

Can't believe how well this game has aged for what it is.

Is okay , I liked the atmosphere , space combat and the mystery surrounding the story but the gameplay is a bit stale and  the fetch quests really sucked the pacing out of the game in the 2nd  half .  Is good , but its nothing spectacular

I am just now finishing this up, and it is the most terrifying, well presented horror experience I have ever had across any medium of entertainment. If you enjoy a good scare, or just simply want to play one of the most unique and interesting games this gen, pick this game up.

I don't usually download games off xbox live because they're always over priced. You can always get them for half the price elsewhere and get the hard copy BUT this game is on Xbox Live right now for only $14.99. I'm downloading it now as we speak. Played 15 minutes of it when it came out and I thought it was an awesome game! Seems under appreciated to me through the gaming community for some reason lol.

This game is just so cool, very creapy, you have to be aware in every single place, I just felt so relief when I got to a closed space for a second, now I have to get dead space 2 that way I will be ready for Dead space 3, can't wait

nothing and i mean nothing can beat this game, not even the best horror movie. nor  the legendary super Mario and snake. nothing.

its a genre of its own. the ultimate game. its an experience beyond your console, hunts you're dreams, torture your soul and laugh at your courage, burn your nerves and nail your senses. its the real survivor horror as deep as the ocean. it conquer you.

Finally playing this game, i can`t believe i haven`t seen this before. It is an instant classic.

if you havent played this game go buy it now well... youll need to be in the mood for a TPS

@DeadrisingX1 you are right , i do not know what the ending in Dead Space 2 meant , i could search the not or ask people as you did , but i am planning to play Dead Space later on without spoiling anything .

I was in a shop today and so nearly bought this for £10 but decided "nah, I'll wait til it comes on sale on Steam". And lo, it's on sale not 6 hours later for £2.50 :D

Steam is currently having a sale until January 16th for Dead Space & Dead Space 2 for $5 each (pack for $10). Bought it :D

I actually played the 2nd but not this, it was one of my favorite single player experiences ever. I'm not a horror buff but the gameplay was perfect for the tense creepy vibe of the game, and the graphics were downright gorgeous.

Not better then RE4 IMO, but it very close...

as a late-comer to this game, I am now kicking myself for passing on it for so long. I will recommend this game to my friends for sure. I will be looking for Dead Space 2 as well.

let me tell you im a resident evil fan to the bone....but i think dead space will be the next resident evil franchise. dead space and dead space 2 were incredible games of which i think maybe our "friends" in capcom should pay attention to see if they learn something new to make a resident evil a "little bit" more scary

Just finished, truly amazing. Somewhere between 9 and 9.5 for me.

This game is fun, scary, and will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end

Should've gotten this one... I had to ask people what the ending in Dead Space 2 meant... I would've understood it if I played this one. Crap.

@Larouche911: Thanks a lot, but I already have both. Yeah, I prefer Alan Wake too. But it sucks Dead Space hasn't grabbed you yet. I found shooting the limbs off those monsters to be so addictive!

@Renoo27 Dead Space is awesome, but it has yet to hook me as hard as Alan Wake. Such a fantastic game!

It sounds like the story is pretty good, but I'm afraid it might seem a bit under-whelming after finishing Alan Wake lol.

Couldn't watch the full review, reviewer is SO boring. I'll just buy the game, whatever.

@annoyatron well your the only one this happens to. Did you guy it used, it might be broken? Not once did that happen to me. Might be your xbox, are you using an older xbox or a newer one?

oops, should have been dead space 2

do not buy!!!! Sooo disappointed. I feel cheated, ripped off. On disc 2 after dieing my weapons disappear . After dieing it loads and loads and loads. 20 mins late still loading, I have to exit to the dashboard and start over. Unlocked doors do not open or I get stuck on an elevator that never ends. I want to trade it in but I would hate for someone to buy this broken piece of junk. Other than that, .... pretty cool game

@renoo27 hey man if you can afford it get both cause you can get dead space 1 pretty cheap, it's great game and Alan Wake is a great as well. Alan Wake Is an Psychological-Action-Thriller and Dead Space is an Action-Horror game they are both great.

@renoo27 Dead Space is far superior in every way. But I guess the most depressing thing about Alan Wake was that they put a lot of emphasis on the "story", with Alan Wake being a writer and all, yet the dialogue was God-awful. Not so-bad-it's-good awful. Just plain awful.
