Check out the Marvel Games Panel at Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego, CA.
Marvel please take a page from ubisoft and dc and get this spiderman game right free open world is not how the comic books take place there is a story arc that drives the game play...make that 2nd 1st and foremost please make the game mechanics right...see arkham city if your looking for free open world
Ok so when do we get a AAA action/adventure marvel game that's not a freaking Spider-man game ? Leave Diablo to Diablo :/
These guys should be making much better games. The industry is at a point where there shouldn't be any bad or mediocre games, especially from people like Marvel. I'll have to wait and see about their next few games, but I'm really waiting for a great franchise like DC did with the Arkham series.
i came here because of the black panther picture - but don't want to watch 50 minutes of this video - any news on T'Challa?
I think that was just for marvel heroes, the free online game, that should be releasing later in the year
At the day Rocksteady take over and develop a game on the likes of Batman AC and AA, then it will work out!
the only good marvel games to me are ultimate alliance 2. wolverines revenge as for origins it could have been better if they added stealth take downs, better combos and the health bar could have been better. spider 1 thru 3 movie games were decent to me 2 and 3 was better because of the side missions u could do even after u finish the main story and the web slinging was better because u could see them actually stick to buildings. web of shadows could if been better combat wise and graphic wise as well they could have at least put in a evolve type gameplay in it by that i mean. when u make a bad choice then the blk suit should have changed the way he looked like grew claws. his voice could have had a growl to it. tentacles could grow of his back. the way he moved could been more primal u know something like that. the punisher game that came out on ps2 and xbox 1 was actually good i feel. the weapons locker u had was cool and the way u upgrade ur gear and guns was cool. x men destiny was crap the combat was crap. each other characters u control was crap. there was no depth to them. didn't matter which powers u choose for them because they would each have the same combat. the choices u made didn't change the story at all. there was no free roam. the way u choose ur powers for defensive, offense and passive were a joke as well the outfit u choose for them to wear was pretty much hand me downs. the premise was good. it was just that they should have let u create your own character for 1. 2 let u choose how u want their genetics to be by that i mean if you want them to have a normal bone structure or like wolverine then if u want them to have claws then they should have a style for those claws like wolverine or sabre-tooth then choose what abilities to start them off with like enhance healing or strength then how u want them to look either human or beast/night crawler. and choose what combat style u want them to have like brawler, martial arts etc etc. them let u choose if ur for the x-men or brother hood. also a leveling up system as well. also start u off in regular clothes then have u earn or buy gear to enhance certain abilities of ur character. if they did that then it might have been a better game. now spiderman shattered and edge of time those were good i feel but the amazing spider man well the side missions were boring a rip from prototype 2 with the secret labs u had to find also plot wise pretty much like web of shadows when people were getting infected and u had to fight certain creatures for their dna and take infected people to safe zones. the combat was kinda like arkham a and city but spider mans combat is suppose to be like that but they should have made it deeper. the upgrade system was kinda a joke because when u upgrade the suit so u can with stand more damage it felt like u didn't upgrade anyway. the challenges are easy as well the boss fights no real skill. the web slinging looks like ur sticking on to the clouds. the web rush was the only good thing as well the other suits u can unlock but the party had suit should have been left out and they should have put in the spider man unlimited suit from the cartoon series. hope their making some dlc for that game because if not then people kinda wasted their money on a game with no real replay value. now as for the mmo marvel doing pretty much its ultimate alliance 3/ diablo and the fact u can create your own character just pushes me away more. i'm hoping the dead pool game will be good and have replay value . agree with me or not that's fine. i'm not here to start a argument
@devilmaycry27 you sure you got everything off your chest dude? I mean, you can type for as long as you want.
@OreoPoptart sorry its a habit i'm trying to break lol but i hope someone understand what i was saying
Was i the only one that just about puked when "Mom" came on and asked for a censored Deadpool game? i don't usually say this but THATS WHY WE CANNOT HAVE NICE THINGS!
Have these guys really been in existence for 30 years? If so, they haven't been doing a good job. Granted it's tough to make games in general, but they have not released anything noteworthy enough to celebrate over.
I thought "Marvel Games" was a new executive board to ensure that Marvel games stop sucking from here onward...
I gotta disagree, there has been alot of great marvel games in the past ranging from many different eras. Of course there has been flops its not an easy industry to create gems but to say everyone of them were bad eggs is like stereotyping all pitbulls as killers.. Its a bad reference but you get the jig..
@BlackBaldwin I may have overlooked those. Which Marvel games did you enjoy and can deem as noteworthy?
@Biggs613 Alright, X-Men Legends was decent. Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 were also decent.
I was thinking X-Men Destiny, which was horrible. It had horrid frame rate, broken save system, and a lousy premise in which you couldn't play as the actual X-Men, but new mutants who have no character nor unique skill sets.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine, also horrible. Also horrid frame rate and a poor God of War ripoff.
Maximum Carnage was good, as well as most of the classic NES and SNES Marvel games, I agree.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 comes closest to being noteworthy, but the franchise is so niche because of its fighting game genre.
In any case, I was looking for something along the lines of Arkham City / Arkham Asylum. Marvel Games has yet to produce a game of this caliber. I can immediately see their failed attempts with Captain America: Super Soldier (to copy Arkham Asylum) and The Amazing Spider-man (to copy Arkham City). Even Thor, which tried desperately to copy God of War, was a major flop, not to mention the past two Iron Man games.
This is where my frustration is. I love the Marvel movies, but the games are just not there. I played through Captain America: Super Soldier and suffered through the frame rate. The game was tolerable mainly because of my affinity for the character, but on its own technical merits, it was lacking.
I concur with biggs those are shinning examples of games that are top tier of the marvel franchise. I must admit I'm more fond of the retrogames Maximum Carnage is one of my favorite brawelers of all time and another really tough but goodie from the same era is Spiderman/X-men: Arcades Revenge. Talking about tough I can still remember bashing my sega controller against the floor everytime I lost...
If you want a little refresher on whats been made heres a list to dive back into your childhood days with.

@Opstinger How about X-Men Legends, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Maximum Carnage, Origins: Wolverine, just to name a few.
