The pre-orders for each version of the game? I love MMO's, but i can't quite see myself playing one on the 360. Especially without the chat box. That being said, since servers aren't connected, I'd prefer to go with the the platform that will have the greater player base.

Also, I'll take a mic over a chat box any day of the week for a console. Party up and relax.

I like mics if I'm in a party, i'm just worried about open world communication, and having no choice but to listen to 9 year olds. I mean, if there is some big giant alien attacking in the open world, am i going to hear 20 voices talking at once? I can't knock it till I try it either way, i'm just cautious.

there is a chat box for all version and voice chat is only for groups in the overworld

Yeah, but trying to chat without a keyboard is next to impossible. Would take 5 minutes to say "hey guys, need a quick bio break". But, it does seem like this version will be the most popular, At least judging by the activity of this board vs. that one.

Hopefully they will have a quick chat option for you to lock in a few commonly used phrases like that. Mic chat in group I do prefer, hard to type and run for cover at the same time.

I am sure quick chat options were mentioned in the ign stream (it could have been one of the live streams though).They also mentioned voice chat was only for groups and guilds.

Mic only works for groups and for clans. So you have to use the chat to talk to people outside of your group/clan. They made it that way so that if you're in a heavily populated area you won't hear 50 people talking at once.
