So far I've done a Magic Build (that platinum'd the game) and am working my way through a faith build. I'm kind of bored with that and would like to do a physical damage build, probably dex but if someone suggests a cool strength weapon I'd go with that too. In fact it might be better to avoid that whole bladestone issue again.
In the mage build I used the Uchi, so I'd like to do something else if possible.

I really liked my STR run. I had several weapons upgraded along a Crushing path but my favorite was the Claymore. It was fun getting up close and personal with enemies and a couple of the bosses went down faster than I would have suspected. I wasn't a tank, rather I wanted to still fast roll but hit hard with Crushing. I never used magic but buffed with sticky white stuff or turpentine when appropriate. I got just enough DEX to use a compound long bow, which I upgraded along a Quality path. I only used it for those nuisance spots (mosquitoes and dragons) or to draw just one enemy to me at a time (those 3 BP's at the start of 1-4).

I used Hiltless on my dex playthrough. I started with Uchi, but switched once I picked Hiltless up in 4-2. I had my reservations due to the 3% damage per hit, but I offhanded Adjucator's shield to help offset that. TBH I found it a bit overpowered. With Sticky White Stuff, I didn't have a problem with any bosses, except False King, but I had never melee'd False King before, so I had to learn the patterns.
Anyway, if you want something that makes you feel Godly, this is the way to go. The 1H R2 attack is simply amazing.

Sharp path:
Uchigatana, War Scythe (think Mirdan Hammer move set), Winged Spear, Spiked Shield, Kilij, Flamberge (think Claymore MS) and Claws.
Now add Cursed Weapon applied with a cracked ToB and you're a right terror to the ill begotten denizens of Boletaria.
And since Fatal scales with Dex don't forget that path for landing devistating BS. Fatal Secret Dagger and Fatal Estoc FTW!!
