- Nov 21, 2012 11:47 am GMTI reminded that someone tried to do that in Fallout 2, could it be possible on Deus Ex?
-Realistic Level
-As soon as you can, you have to got your legs and arms crippled. And of course, healing them is forbidden. Yeah, travel will be slow. If you need to do a jumping section, heal the legs and broke them again after.
-Master Computer asap, then you can choose electronics, medicine and environmental. Leave everything else untrained.
-No augs.
-Our Stephen is a well-educated, pacifist man. The only weapons allowed are those who renders an enemy unconscious. Use of explosives only allowed in the brooklyn ship.
I won't try this because I'm still playing the game for the first time, but maybe there's someone crazy enough to give it a try

Uh, pretty easily. Just wait until the bot's rolling away, approach the front door from the camera''s blind spot and hack it, then crawl in.

Look! It's Enrico Palazzo! - Nov 23, 2012 7:48 am GMTShouldn't you be unable to use items if you are role-playing someone who can't use their arms? Or are you thinking it's like in the Simpsons and he has weaponry mounts and jetpacks in his wheelchair?
On the other hand, you'd finally have an explanations for JC's deadpan voice-acting...

Or sneak in from the ladder and boxes at the back.

Wouldn't that be against the spirit of the challenge? Surely it's better to find alternate routes and only jump when there's no alternative (avoids restoring and blowing your legs off too).
Ladders are hard to justify too. Are we saying the "wheelchair" has some sort of stairlift functionality that works on ladders?

I would expect the one I'm thinking of is not a pacifist, and minimum would have some heavy wheelchair ordinance stashed inside there

I'm sure there's at least one point in the game where you have to jump. I guess you could always make a very long pathway using crates if need be in some areas.

-Realistic Level
I don't think level will make much of a difference, 'cause once detected you'll be toast with your handicapped limbs anyway, unable to defend and/or run.
-As soon as you can, you have to got your legs and arms crippled. And of course, healing them is forbidden. Yeah, travel will be slow. If you need to do a jumping section, heal the legs and broke them again after.
How are you going to break your legs apart from jumping down somewhere from a reasonable height without getting killed? Very difficult, apart from the fact that it leads to running in circles (heal, jump, fall down, break legs, find way up again, jump, etc etc)
-Master Computer asap, then you can choose electronics, medicine and environmental. Leave everything else untrained.
Master level is unnecessary, even on trained level the entire game is very playable. But what about lockpicks?
-No augs.
Beats the point of the game entirely, if you ask me. Where'd be the fun in that?
-Our Stephen is a well-educated, pacifist man. The only weapons allowed are those who renders an enemy unconscious. Use of explosives only allowed in the brooklyn ship.
So, no crossbow either, realistically you can't handle one with both arms cripled, no? Leaves only onehanded weapons like the prod, baton, pepperspray (yikes), and you better not miss the first time! *lol*
take care y'all. - Dec 14, 2012 3:31 pm GMTI agree with sheila_mertens. This stuff has no sense whatsoever.
Listen, I WANT to make some kind of weird play, but this one is just silly. Just come up with something better, more do-able and possibly, avoid tedious rules. Just thinking about how much time I would waste because of the slow-ass character, I lose any motivation to do that stuff
If you want me to make some strange playrun, I have 3 request
- is there any gameplay recorder which is completely free? I have fraps but it's shareware, and would only let me record 30 secs
- I wish to make use of cheats, BUT in a manner which is not actually a cheating.
Taking the "stephen hawking run" as an example, I could use cheats to restore my legs and break them again, in a rational and simple manner, when I need to jump. Indeed, as sheila_mertens pointed out, it is IMPOSSIBLE to break your own legs... aside from cheating. So my request is to use cheats, but ONLY for the purpose of eliminating tedious (or just plain impossible) tasks.
- shifter mod enabled. I get used too much to it, I just can't play original DX anymore without...
let me know what do you think about it - Dec 15, 2012 12:11 pm GMTFailed attempt at trying to revive the board. I like challenges, but not *THESE* kinds of "challenges". :-/

[=[__]=] 007_rogue: what would you have to have in a computer to ensure your games never crash?
[+[__]+] ImbaIance: The soul of Bill Gates. - Dec 15, 2012 12:26 pm GMTwhy not? I already had in project to make some kind of weird walkthrough (I think I will make one in italian, my language, but with english sub).
My only true limitation is to find some game recording software which is free. I don't want to buy one, just to make ONE playthrough
So, if I can add some weird rules to the walktrough, it's all the way better - Dec 25, 2012 12:15 pm GMTWouldn't call it a challange. It's next to impossible to complete, and takes the whole fun out of the game.
