Difficulty:
Very Hard
Time Spent:
100 or More Hours
The Bottom Line:
"Broken"
Patch 1.0.3 = Super Nerf = People Quit

This patch was rushed, not sufficiently tested and will cause riots and mass ragequits, here is why.

IAS 50% Nerf

This has a multitude of effects, not only causing many players to lose significant monetary investments even after Blizz said it was safe to invest on items. Simply because nobody expected such a massive nerf, which was totally unwarranted - maybe a 15% nerf...maybe.

The unforeseen circumstances of this nerf alone are apparent, most players stand to lose 20k+ DPS with no real easy way to regain it. Also, it makes attacking seem sluggish and far slow paced, not to mention makes killing groups of monsters far harder considering that you can still be one shotted. The slower attacks, make the gameplay far slower and more boring. Also, possible stealth nerf to run speed - I was checking my characters run speed with/without 12% boots on...I barely saw any difference so this could be either broken or nerfed - discuss.

*Translation* We want the players who are affected by this nerf (IE everyone) to hit up the RMAH to buy alternative gear for which, we may or may not nerf in a future patch - but probably will - looking at Crit here as the next major nerf.

Damage Reduction

Flat out LIE, Blizzard never said 'how' much the damage reduction was, turns out it was very negligible, I just tested Act 2 // Act 3 // Act 4 inferno with my DH, and mobs are still one shotting - if anything, the game is far harder now without the IAS. The increased attack speed that mobs was given has made Act 1 harder now, I tested this just now with a basic skeleton mob hit me for 16k? are you hiring insane developers blizzard? Are you trying to force players to quit? Are you guys for real?

All the people saying it is easier, are melee because the game is now easier for them who already had significantly high life/resists/armor/dmg reduction and not to mention, wasn't a major stat for them with the exception of certain Monk builds. For ranged, this patch effectively hurts them far too much. This is typical of Blizzard(Wow) with their flavor of the month approach to gaming - the first month was DH, now it looks like Barbs are the way to go.

Also, let us not forget they massively increased the difficulty of bosses now, some of the point of insanity. Making Belial drop more pools, wasn't the amount he was dropping enough? So you want even less people to progress on Inferno mode? Increased the range of mortar? So you want people one shotted from two screens away now instead of one screen away?

*Translation* Blizz hates ranged combat, so forcing everyone to reroll to Barb now.

Let us now talk about enrage timers, everybody hated it. With all the current nerfs, actually making this timers now is a serious question. And guess what, they now have tacked one even more timers to bosses - so know you have bosses like Zolten Kulle who can still one/two shot you, can teleport to your location - spams ceiling collapses and you have to kill him in under three minutes?

Better item drops

LIE, You disguise the 'better item drops' with clear nerfs to Magic Find such as making breaking pots/using environment for instance. Higher chance for drops in Act 1, yes but this doesn't necessarily mean they will be any good, the itemization/RNG is still in charge of that aspect, meaning 99.9%+ of the time, the rares you will find will be vendor trash. Blizzard loves the 0.1% chance to find great items, you can blame the RMAH for this.

I already proved this point by finding several lvl 63 rares in Act 1, all of which was terrible. I've seen better level 40 items, and that is one of the major problems with the game - it is common to find level 60 players using lower level gear, simply because in many cases, it is better unless you want to hit up the RMAH again to find those godly pieces.

What happened to the better Legendary/Set items which was promised? I haven't seen any mention of that.

*Translation* RMAH is good yo didn'tcha know?
