I think it's actually pretty well done, everything feels smooth and fluid and when you get the hang of it actually makes you feel kind of badass as you are flying through some sections.

I like it too. Then again, I'm a sucker for platforming games. Most of the time it's a little too easy, though. I wish there were more seriously complicated platforming runs.

No. You're not. You're NEVER the only one.

I also like the platforming, it's like a break from the action. Also it's the only time i take a good look at the environments.

I don't know how to explain it, but I love the moment when Dante knows the demon pull for the first time, instead taking a part for making new platform, it moves the whole background towards you.
It's when you first enter the area where there's a giant statue with a lot of chains.
Really sorry if I'm confusing, English is not my native language...

One minor complaint I have have is that it seems the POV is set slightly too low behind Dante as you're doing the platforming.
In fact, through most of the game, I've felt the "camera" could have been up a little higher. I wish I could just raise it up a bit to look down on the action more. It would have made the fights easier to follow.
Still an amazing game any way you look at it though.

I've been gaming since the '70's. I've seen/played/been-there-done-that all before and now I'm bored.

it tends to get a little frustrating in certain parts on a keyboard I must admit, that was the hardest part of my first run lol. It was a nice change of pace from the puzzles I'm used to in the series. I really did dig the land trying to capture Dante, that was a nice direction.

I like the platforming, none of it is frustrating and it is a nice mechanic to have you soar through some of the majestic set pieces and into the next fight.
It flows really well and feels great.

I thought it was a improvement too, dmc4 had a few levels where you would use nero devil bringer to do the same thing dante's angel push does, but where really short passages.

I thought the platforming was great. I felt kinda like the glory days of prince of persia. I was surprised how much of it there was.
The one segment where you help vergil and cat escape was awesome!

The platforming has always been a part of DMC. I don't see the big deal with it. It breaks up the action. Also, in DmC it's nowhere as frustrating as parts in DMC 3. In DMC 3 there was one secret mission that was all platforming up a vertical corridor with rotating blocks. It took me forever to get that stupid health piece.

It's a pleasant break from the fighting, but that's really all it is.
It's not like you're in any real danger or asked to have any dexterity whatsoever.

The camera itself is the challenge in platforming.
There's one secret mission where you need to go from higher place to lower. The camera made me think it's impossible to do it...
