    Much like Resident Evil, the 6th main game in the series is the official death of the series.

    Unlike most complaints I see nothing wrong with the new Dante, he's an emo teen wet dream but he's hardly ruined. In fact I rather like the plot devices such as "being dragged into limbo" and some of the later story though somewhat predictable.

    Let me first declare that in a fashion similar to RE6, DMC: isn't a bad game. The problem is that it is instead an action game and a terrible DMC game. Resident evil 5 and 6 both aren't bad games either, they are entertaining, but they too are terrible Resident Evil games.

    Here's how Capcom ruined DMC gameplay and combat;

    1) Enemies are too slow and the game is too easy. Every attack is largely drawn out and predictable. When I’m low on health in DMD in an previous DMC my heart is racing and I’m thrilled surviving on twitch reactions alone. In the new DMC I’m calmly dodging everything and if I do get hit it’s more like I’m gibbed- what makes this worse is the fact that

    2) The new “Dodge button” is overpowered. You have far too many frames of invulnerability and the ability to air dodge from the beginning makes you ridiculous. The dodge CANCELS other attacks in progress and there are no moves with high commitment. What made Agni & Rudra so epic was your big hits committed your character and made you vulnerable. You can dodge cancel anything in this game. No planning your battle required.

    3) The combo system is basically a terrible “don’t get hit system”. Like removing the lock on and towards/away button input was a huge mistake, it limited your moveset and made it so the combo system allows you to be incredibly repetitive.

    TLDR Basically they made the game a streamlined, non heart pounding, cheesy easy mode dodge anything with instant invulnerability. It ruined every concept of Devil May Cry and created generic hack and slash gameplay with a false sense of flashy combos.

    I wish I could say RIP Capcom, but honestly I hope you money grabbers burn.

    No moves with high commitment? Arbiter's Trinity Smash.

    I didn't even mention these minor facts;

    1) platforming is terrible. just terrible.

    2) infinite air combos if you mess with the game

    3) significantly lower APM compared to DMC 3 & 4

    4) terrible "cling" to attacks. In DMC134 you stay horizontally level and fall vertically during most aerial moves or after aerial combos. In DMC5 you basically are pulled to the enemy ala Kingdom hearts, and you hover if you're chaining combos in the air.

    looks like the ps3 board found out people on the pc board actually like this game. Well this was a nice board while it lasted!

    In the first resident evil they're practically giving out hints that mutants would be the enemy in future sequels....they can still make as much sequels as they can as long as people buy them.Peoples opinion won't pay the game to make it self anyway.
    Also I think capcom never made DMC it was only published by capcom but was made by ninja theory.(Correct me if I'm wrong.)

    You mentioned the battle system wasn't enough to suffice your ego?
    I think they purposely made the enemies slower because of DanteMustDie mode where you just get killed in one hit.I can't imagine any human being can finish that mode if the enemies moved like a ninja unless it took about sheer effort and sweat and tears.

    slightly off topic.. man this year really makes me ashamed to be a gamer. I have never witnessed so much whining. From the whole Mass Effect 3 ending fiasco to Tomb Raider and devil may cry reboots to diablo 3. This is certainly the age of the self entitled gamer who has to have every game to their exact spefications. There are certain games i dont like or were dissappointed with but i never made it my main goal in life to hate on a game like so many gamers do now days. Back in the day when i didnt like a game i would be slightly dissappointed and move on to another game i did like. Certainly not go on a forum crusade. "CAPCOM IS DEAD TO ME" ... really ? slightly over reacting there? and you think dante is an emo punk?

    Yeah...
    No matter what, these people always have to ruin things for everyone else. It really is a shame.

    Don't let other people's opinions affect your enjoyment of the game. I played the demo, enjoyed it, decided to purchase the game and have not regretted my decision no matter what others say.

    You're wrong about RE6. IT's a bad game period. People keep calling it a bad RE game and yes that's true but it's a bad action game full stop.

    1) Completely subjective. Not even close to a fact.

    2) Your point? And they're not infinite air combos if the enemies die. DERP!

    3) The attacks per minute varies on player skill. Lower APM doesn't make the game inferior.

    4) Its not DMC5. Its a reboot. Thus, not a sequel entry to the original franchise. Also, once again, subjective. I'd link you to the definition of fact on Merriam-webster but it wouldn't help since your full of rage.

    TC is upset and doesn't like the game. Nothing wrong with that. But saying the game is a terrible DMC game because its not like the old verbatim? Stop being so self entitled.

    He referred to RE6 and DmC proving that the 6th iteration of a franchise is the backbreaker. This is technically DMC5.

    Cool Story Bro,

    now make a video of you not getting hit once on highest difficulty, and ALWAYS SSS on mission screen. If you do that, you are god, if you don't stop whining.

    This. I feel ya man. I read GameFAQs forums quite often and this past year has just been absolutely saddening as a gamer. So much whining and entitlement...its been rampant. Just go look at the Metacritic user scores for any sequel released this year. People are calling these games complete and utter trash. I've played all the "terrible" games such as ME3, Diablo 3, DmC, Fifa 13, NFS, etc. While these games might have fallen short of my expectations (who is to say I'm not the one to blame...), they are certainly not 2/10, 3/10, or 4/10 games as the reviews would point to.

    I sometimes wonder why people still look at gaming as a child's hobby and then I see the incessant whining, entitlement, and lack of rational thought that is pervasive on this and other gaming sites....and then it becomes pretty obvious to me.

    At TC,

    thanks for telling us your opinion. I played DMC3 on DMD mode and I loved it. I was disappointed with DMC4, and because of that I waited to hear what others say about DMC5 before I spend a dime on it. What you say has convinced me that I made a good call with not buying the game. I know you are getting hate for what you said, but it does help those of us who were hardcore DMC players who LOVED the really hard challenge of the game. Without that challenge, yes DMC would suck. I dont care what they do to Dante...they can make him a woman for all I care, but the game play is where its at.

    At everyone else/ all the people bashing on the TC,

    Shut the heck up!! Just because he gave his honest opinion it doesn mean he is a hater. If anything, he is a lover because he knows what the DMC games stood for once, and now that is gone. You guys clearly dont get this fact..

    Not this. Not at all. You either never played the original DMC or DMC3, or you bought this new game and think its a good game...and maybe it is...but its not insanely difficult....what is what the past games were...and thats why we loved it. You dont get this, everyone bashing the OP doesnt see this because you are ignorant turds.
