All right. I'll admit, I hated the new look of Dante at first. I remember watching the TGS 2010 trailer, hoping to see the super cool, stylish white haired Dante that we all know and love, but instead we are greeted with an emo, trashy douchebag who claims to be Dante. I even recall after he says "My name is Dante" I screamed "NO YOUR NOT!!!". I was what some people may recall as "butt hurt". I was angry at this yes, until I saw the actual game and where it was going. After seeing so much of the game last year at all of the conventions and E3 as well, I was convinced that this new Dante could possibly win me over the old one, even when Ninja Theory claimed we would prefer him over the old one. A big claim, and now that it finally came out and I was able to play a little bit of it at my friends, I can clearly say that Ninja Theory has started off 2013 with a win. DMC: Devil May Cry is possibly one of the best action games I have played in a long time in the DMC franchise since the first one. I am a huge Devil May Cry fan, I played all of the first four, I even watched the anime which was decent and now that this new Western team has developed Devil May Cry I was worried how it would hold up. First off, Dante's new look, eh. I think its OK, it has improved from the very first trailer, he looks clean but it really doesn't feel like the old Dante in any way where he used to just have one liners, be light hearted and just be a bad ass. This new Dante is a more punk attitude not caring about anyone except himself however still able to pull off one liners which are pretty good. Vergil I feel made a huge improvement especially in his voice, I actually wanted to see more of Vergil now unlike Devil May Cry 3. Kat is a decent character, she is able to bring more humanity into Dante which I really liked. Now the most important part of DMC is the gameplay. I has not changed one bit, in fact they've even improved it alot. It's faster, it's more stylish, and this next compliment may disappoint people, it makes it more open to play, making it a little easier for new players. However there are more difficulties for Veterans where you die in one hit, try that. Now in conclusion there are some things I didn't hit like the awesome Bob Barbas boss fight and the awesome story and location of the game, but in general, I feel like DMC: Devil May Cry is a reboot worth checking out and a worthy breath of fresh air for a franchise that seemed to have disappeared. Go pick it up if your a DMC fan, even if your not, still try and pick it up, its a great game.

DMC may have a new coat of paint but this Devil May Cry reboot is far from a disappointment.
