I remember oblivion graphics comparison here on gs going something like this "We actually preferred how the 360's low-res ground outside the stables looked compared to the PS3's sharper yet bland-looking ground" (too much brightness and any game looks bland) and now crisper is better, im confused lol

even if it had pop in issues and AI dumb as... and was rarely mentioned if ever by reviewers who then use those excuses to give lower scores on other games...blah blah...
1 Like personally, i think at least in terms of looks, it's better on the ps3 than the 360. the colors looked better. also the pc version looked kind of washed out but the frame rate was better.
Games will look the best on the platform the developer intended it to be played on. If graphics is your thing it's hands down a P.C.
@_Roo_ what did you expect m8? most of the companies, don't create a different version of directX for PC. their are very few games out there that use directX 10-11.
Really dudes, this comparison is ridiculous, ok we know it is part of press job. But really, why the ps3 frame rate is a big problem, I mean, this kind of problems are always fixed with a 1 or 2 months patch, that is the reason why the now you can download patch for console gamming. Anyway 0.5 difference in graphics means absoloutly nothing! And if you want to keep computer with the latest hardware to support this quality of graphics you have to invest like $350 approx. every 2 years + other stuffs.
most games are coded for the xbox and are ported to ps3 so the ps3 always gets lumped with the worst loooking games,
1 Like @joluvsrnb Yeah thats the main reason, but if you look at the games specially made for ps3 (exclusives), the graphics are superb and many have no equal in the bussiness, well at least in most of them!

@Gabriel_9 actually i found PS3 lighting effect alot more vibrate than dull xbox...but PC bloom effect and light shadow is next to none!
I'm more of a PC gamer but you have to look at the fact the PS3 that doubles up as a bluray player is £150 now & to build a brand new PC with a GTX 660 your looking at spending about £500 so it really does depend on what your budget is. That extra £350, maybe not for a gamespot employee but its alot of money for some people.
I'm not a fan of all this PC is better talk like you must have a thousand pound system in order to be apart of the gaming community on here without someone telling you how shite your console is. Your no gamer if you have hate for consoles

It all comes down on how much you like nice graphics. For me, the visual look is REALLY important, thus buying an expensive PC is a good 4-6 year investment. But that doesn't mean that I hate consoles - quite the opposite, I love them. But I will ALWAYS choose Witcher 2 on pc over Witcher 2 on consoles or Battlefield 3 on PC over BF3 on consoles because of the much better overall graphic details and performances.
Ofc, not all players can afford themselves a 500-900 ? machine - but if you ask me, I would rather wait a couple of years and put my money on a pile until I have enough to buy me a proper PC than to buy a console. But that's just me and my I-will-play-on-ultra-or-I-won't-play-at-all way of thinking.

3 Like the 360 version is sightly better than the ps3 version. those people dont know what their doing. Also notice that they have darkened the ps3 footage. the colors for all 3 versions are the same (Although this vid shows the ps3 to be darker). frame rate drops on the ps3 are not noticeable nor they are frequent. Dont believe me ? check the link below. yes the 360 looks better but not by much the 7.5 given is a joke. reduction by 0.5 for slight differences is a load of bullshit. this guy should never ever review again.

I hate these comparisons because like he pointed out the video it is compressed. Consoles have a low resolution on top of looking blurry due to no aa or low aa. You can achieve much higher on the PC like 2560x1600 where it looks crisp and very nicely detailed with the additional graphic effects but everything here is jammed in a small video at 720p. I mean youtube can show native videos why not these guys. But I cannot blame consoles the 360 which I have was made in 2005 which was great at the time but man these things have lived past their expiration date imo. I think my fondest memory was playing Oblivion on the 360 when my PC was a piece of crap.
@Rovelius @lYMICrazyl incorrect, youtube can display at "native recording" option which is up to 4k resolution at 30fps or 2560x1600 at 60fps. or 1980x1080 at 90fps.
So, you are going to claim that the PS3 version has a frame-rate drop, yet you are not even going to show it to us. That's logical.

Who the fuck is this guy? PS3 has bad graphics because developers do not know how to work with this. DMC is a good game and I will probably buy the PC version I am done with consoles.
The main reason to get the PC version, in my opinion, is because of the performance (in other words, the frame rate).
They talked about frame rates all the time. However; since you cannot gather a pc system which is able to meet the high requirements of this game successfully, it occurred to me that it was a substantially bizarre comparison. Xbox 360 looks as if it is smoother, by the way.
1 Like @prisoner94 Bizarre to someone whose ignorant to anything tech maybe. Running a game on Ultra is a option not a requirement. The game runs on DX9 most games out now are on DX10. You could easily run this game on mid grade rig. I know, I know this so over your head. And honestly the textures on the PS3 looked better even though they didn't render fast enough as the 360 they looked like it was a higher resolution.
