i've always wanted to play the original 2 dooms, but they've never been convenient to play. but now they're on xbox 360 which is the console i have. keep in mind i've never played a doom game.

They play very well on consoles. Using the more traditional FPS control setup works wonders for it.
The only flaw for this version are the censored Wolfenstein levels, but they make up only a small percentage of those games.

i've been stocking up on old games for a while now. playing through mirror's edge and crackdown now, and also got earth defense force 2017 and jericho recently.

some decent titles, din't care much for mirror's edge though. also, you should try out EDF: insect armageddon, it plays much better than the first one, the first one has more weapons though. and definitely pick up BFG, especially since you've never played DOOM before.

Mirror's Edge is a good one, and I think Crackdown was good from what I remember. Jericho(Clive Barker's) kind of sucked from what I played(sorry if you enjoy it).

i think mirror's edge is awesome. the time trials are a bit infuriating but i really like the game overall. no worries on jericho, it was 5 bucks. if i don't like it i don't have to play it.

yeah, duke was a very under rated and needlessly hated game. while it wasn't the epic masterpiece and perfect game that most idiots hyped it up to be, it's still a solid game, also, get the "doctor who cloned me" DLC, it almost doubles the length of the game.

Well I just bought it today for doom 3 games only.
And on a side note I loved Jericho, that game is underrated by far the most...
Great gore in that game...

Well after 2 hrs on veteran playing doom 3 I can say with all honesty this game is great so far. Decent hd overhaul on graphics and gameplay is smooth and I don't mind holding sticks down to crouch or sprint.
Definatly worth the 26 bux I paid for used copy at gamestop..
I would say a solid 7.5/10 IMO...

Crackdown is one of my favorite sandbox games. I played the demo for Crackdown 2 long enough to avoid it like the plague. I'm not sure if they ever did updates to it or not.
Mirror's Edge had a great visual style and was decently fun.

We much preferred Insects Armageddon.
Weapons had some real 'punch' to them and the vehicles and turrets were actually useable.
