Dragon Age II Glitches

  1. Infinite XP and Gold Glitch (Pre-Patch)

Before finishing a side quest that doesn't trigger a cutscene, draw your weapon. Once your weapon is drawn, talk to the NPC that completes the quest. Once your character puts his or her weapon away, repeatedly hit A till desired level or gold amount is reached.
  2. Item Dupe and Money (Pre-Patch)

As with Dragon Age: Origins, place your most expensive item into your trash alone. Go to a merchant. Select sell and go to the trash tab. Hit Y and then nearly immediately press A. If you were successful the item you sold will have sold twice giving you extra money. To duplicate stackable items like potions purchase two or more stackable items. Do the above cheat. Enter into buy mode. Buy back all but one of the item you wish to duplicate. Repeat the cheat. Your stackable items will have increased for as many as you have sold. Example: Purchase ten potions. Place them in your junk pile. Perform the cheat. Enter the buy tab. Re-purchase nine of the ten potions from the buy-back tab. Enter the sell mode. Go to the trash tab. Perform the cheat. You will have 19 potions and their cost in coins doubled back to you.
  3. Infinite points in Armor (Pre-Patch)

This can be done with Aveline or Warrior Hawke at any point in the game. All you have to do with either is to equip and then un-equip and then re-equip a shield. Your Armor number and percent continues to go up as you equip and un-equip. Do it as many times as you want till you max it out.
  4. Infinite Ability Points

To do this glitch, you need to obtain the Makers Sigh potion and lots of it. Start by assigning your available abilities to your tactics menu. Once this is done, use the Makers Sigh potion. Using this potion will remove all your abilities. Now save and reload that save. Go into your ability menu and you will notice that the abilities you assigned to your tactics are already unlocked, but you still have all your unassigned ability points. You can either use the Makers Sigh potion again and save then reload, or assign your points to other abilities, put them in your tactics menu, and repeat the rest of the glitch for even more ability points. This glitch also allows you to unlock certain abilities in classes without having to go through the entire skill tree.
  5. Activate sustainable abilities that are not meant to be able to be activated together.

(Example: Control and Might for warriors are not meant to be able to be activated at the same time) Activate one, and before it's done casting, activate the other. It should activate them both and you should get the affects of both. This works for all sustainable abilities that are not meant to be able to be activated simultaneously.

Dragon Age II Cheat Codes

  1. Dragon Age II Cheats

Make a shortcut to your "da2.exe" file (typically located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age 2\bin_ship folder) on your desktop, Start Menu, or wherever. Right click on the shortcut, choose Properties, then add the following to the end of line in the "Target" field: -enabledeveloperconsole — it should look something like this:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Dragon Age 2\bin_ship\DragonAge2.exe" -enabledeveloperconsole

Once that is all taken care of, type the following commands into the console after activating it, in-game (typically the "~" key). Note that you often won't see any notification that something has changed. Also note that you will not see the console, or what you are typing - this is normal. Furthermore, note that the console is automatically closed when you press Enter, so there is no need to "toggle it off" (doing so will bring it back on, which can make it seem like the game is stuck and doesn't respond to input).

Note: This does not work with the Steam release of Dragon Age II.

PS3 Hints & Cheats

Dragon Age II Unlockables

  1. Ser Isaac's Armor set

To unlock the armor set, you have to create an EA account first and then link it with your PSN ID. Rent Dead Space 2 if you don't have it, go the main menu and it should log you into your account. Once you have done that, start your Dragon Age 2 copy and the set will be unlocked. You can find it in your special delivery chest at your house.
  2. Blood Dragon Armor

If you have a save of Dragon Age Origins on your hard drive with the Blood Dragon Armor unlocked, it automatically transfers to Dragon Age 2 as well.

Dragon Age II Glitches

  1. Infinite Exp/Money (Pre-Patch)

Choose a sidequest that does NOT end with a cutscene or dialogue tree.(usually finding an item or something of that nature). Draw your weapon near the NPC, but without finishing the quest. When you approach the NPC wait until your character begins to re-sheath their weapon. As they are putting it away press X repeatedly(PS3 version)or A (for the xbox 360 version of the game) and each time you press the allotted button you will be awarded with the quests reward in money/exp over and over
  2. Unlimited ability points. (Pre-Patch)

To activate this glitch it will require that you have access to the black emporium and have money available to purchase the potion "Makers Sigh" that resets all ability points, and attributes. Hawke comes preloaded with preset skills he is "supposed" to have. Meaning when you use a makers sigh and save, when you reload the game file these ability's will be filled. To take advantage of this follow these following steps. 1. Use makers sigh 2. Save your game. 3. Load your game 4. Check your ability points. You should have the amount that were taken away, plus the ability's that Hawke is "supposed" to have. For a rogue it will be around four - five points in the dual wield tree. 5. If you use another makers sigh, it will now add those ability's to the ability points available. I was effectively able to go from 20, to 45 within 5 minutes. You must save and reload each time you wish to do this again.
  3. Infinite Rival Points

After finishing Sebastian's companion quest, which is called repentance, you need to head back to the chantry. Do not talk with Sebastian there, instead talk to the grand cleric and keep selecting the "You're useless" dialog. You get a +5 rivalry for Sebastian whenever you select this.
  4. Infinite Attribute Points (Max Stats)

You must be in Act 3 and able to craft the rune of valiance. Get any two different pieces of equipment (not the same type of course) with at least 1 rune slot. Craft a rune of valiance onto both making sure that the amount of attributes added on each item is different. Equip both items. Now remove the one that adds the most attributes first, then remove the other. Not all the attributes from the rune will be removed and it will be permanently added to Hawke. Repeat equipping both and removing both to keep getting attribute points all the way to 100 max in everything if you want. Remember to make sure to equip and remove the item that gives the most +attributes first.
