How do you register it on the bioware social? I can hardly find any useful info on this. Thanks

You use the UPC to register it. All copies have the same UPC (that's the point of the UPC)

What difference does it make?
The important aspect of registering the game on BSN is being able to post on the game owner's forum, and version registered does not matter.
The only other reason to register your game is to get the Boots of the Frozen North (or whatever they are called), and registering is no longer required, it is included as one of the items in the promotional item unlock for DAO and DA2.
