they are now pushing harder to reach the 2013 deadline and not to overlap with The Witcher 3 2014 release. BioWare is usually good at keeping their release dates – however some believe that pushes like this can rush an incomplete game, and it may end up making Dragon Age 3 worse only because they panicked. Hopefully that will not happen.
IT KEEPS HAPPENING!

"Who's the master, Leroy?" Sho'nuff - Feb 10, 2013 7:49 am GMTOh, is Projekt Red still pretending like a Witcher title will ever get a Playstation release?
Edit- someone in their marketing dept. had to written that article, right?

It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from here. - Feb 10, 2013 9:48 am GMTThey have right to be concerned. TW2, despite a two month difference in release, completely overshadowed DA2. Comparisons kept being brought up ahead of time of all the failures DA2 suffered put up against this game made by a much smaller team with a much smaller budget. Considering where things stand now, if people had to choose between a CDProjekt Red game and a Bioware Dragon Age game, the choice would be very obvious and more than a little embarrassing for Bioware/EA.
- Feb 10, 2013 11:28 am GMTOne of the biggest reasons DA2 was garbage was because it was rushed (less than a friggin year!)
They hear about The Witcher 3
They know said game will overshadow them (nice to know they have some sense of self awareness)
The logical choice would be to put more work and care in the game. Have it released after Witcher 3 and put every effort they can to bring back the reputation of Dragon Age and Bioware in genreal.
But nah, **** that, we're just going to rush the hell out of the game so it comes out first and people buy our crap before theirs.
DA3 confirmed for failure

I'm reminded of a convo between Morrigan and Alistair:
Morrigan: Your sense of awarenes does you credit.
Alistar: I thought you might like that....
should we change the names to reflect the two game companies now?

I was under the impression that the only overlap in their target audiences would be PC gamers.

Witcher 3 was confirmed for PS4 just recently, so this rumor could have been about the console version as well.
Which means that, unless DA3 unexpectedly is a next gen release, you are correct.

PSN: El_Coon - Feb 27, 2013 10:51 am GMTGood old EA. Who cares about making a game great and securing the future of the series? Just make a crappy, rushed game that people will buy in good faith in remembrance of fairer times when the series' name carried some weight due to the presence of a little thing called quality.
Well, sorry, EA... Fool me once, (Dragon Age 2) shame on you... Fool me twice, (Mass Effect 3) shame on me... You won't fool me again, (which is why I passed on Dead Space 3) and I'm not wasting $59.99 on another incomplete game.
Besides, after the dismal endings of ME3 and DS3, DA3 will probably end with the main character idiotically dying in an unsatisfactory, plot-hole riddled ending.

I imagine Bethesda's Quality Testing Department a big, dusty room filled with cobwebs, and a chimp wearing a Fez banging on the keyboard of a single computer... - Feb 28, 2013 1:58 am GMTNeither company would want a simultaneous release date it would take a chunk out of Dragon Age sales but do even more harm to Witcher sales.
The Witcher series is good game but Dragon Age simply has more appeal. - Mar 2, 2013 7:03 am GMTThe Witcher 2 did everything better than DA2.

The question everyone who played DA2(whether they liked it or not) was/is asking.

Except get a Playstation release. I saw the trailer and it looked great- Red just decided they didn't feel like making it for the Sony console.

It wasn't that they didn't feel like it, they just didn't have any experience developing games for PS3, and decided to cancel it because they were afraid they wouldn't be able to produce a port that held up to their own standard of quality.
CD Projekt RED prides themselves in the outstanding quality of their games, and didn't want to risk the PS3 version being an inferior port due to their lack of experience developing for the console.
That said, supposedly The Witcher 3 is going to be on PS4, which is supposedly far easier to develop for than PS3, so hopefully that will actually happen, and hopefully they'll port The Witcher 1 & 2 to PS4 while they're at it.

so it's better to give a person stranded on an island a picture of an american made survival knife, than an actual chinese made survival knife? **** logic. - Mar 17, 2013 1:22 pm GMTI feel sorrow for Bioware
- Mar 24, 2013 9:12 pm GMTBlack mage...how could you know the ending of DS3 was crap if you didn't play it? You f'ing YouTube watchers make me laugh. You watch someone else literally run through a game just to finish it and you base your judgements off that! What a f...hole! Instead of criticizing a company for a game that isn't even out yet, just wait and see how well it plays when it comes out. Besides, Witcher games NEVER come out for the PS3 so why are you even worrying about it. Witcher is gonna be next gen, while DA3 will be current gen, so there really is no fair comparison between them! All of you nay-sayers need to get over yourselves and realize that these games can't be truly compared because the Witcher is intended for a PC audience and DA is made more for consoles., meaning Witcher games get 2 or 3 years of dev whereas console gamrs rarely even get 2!

I thought the Witcher 2 and DA2 were both subpar games. I expect more out of a RPG.

I would say that combat, characters and story where far better in DA2 but DA2 was let down by some pretty bad characters such as Anders. It's biggest let down was the location which was horrible.
Witcher had better locations, gameplay outside of combat ,a very good protagonist and a decent villain but it's overall story and supporting cast where unremarkable and combat was simply ok.
