DBZ Budokai 2 is definetly a big improvement from the first budokai game. It has even a larger character pool and a much improved story mode. The overall gameplay is pretty fun and is very easy to understand. But each level in story mode is like a board game. You move your players around and fight enemies as you go. I didn't really like this style of gameplay. Not in a DBZ game. It didn't feel right. The actual storyline was wonderful and went right along with the real storyline. Besides the new story mode, they also added some new things, such as babidis spaceship. In babidis spaceship you get to compete in several training events to earn points. When you get a certain number of points you get unlockables for the majin boos, such as skills and the characters themselves. Overall this game is fun, but I didnt like that board game style of play very well.
