Dragon Ball Z Budokai HD Collection User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Total letdown"
The budokai games, in particular Budokai 3, are the best DBZ games out there. However, this HD collection is simply a money steal. You can buy it if you have money to spare and haven't played the original, but if your getting it for nostalgia sake, stay away.
The main problem is that the music has been changed. I don't know why it has been changed, I don't really care, it is horrifying. I always find that my nostalgia manifests itself in the soundtracks of the games I play, and the music change here kills any nostalgia.
The HD effects are quite good, but the characters are surrounded with a white glow which just looks odd.
NOTHING else has changed, no online play, no additional modes, nothing. The worse bit is this: no Budokai 2. If your going to remaster a series, don't just decide to skip one.
If you like Budokai and don't have the PS2 copies, I say it's much better if you track down the copies off Ebay. If your into DBZ and actually want to play a good DBZ game (Tenkaichi etc. suck in all honesty) get this, even though the development team haven't done much to make this game fresh and exciting.
