Pretty much a re-release?!

So I was reading that this is going to be a $40 game. Pretty much just fixing the original and re-releasing it with some extra content. This is really pissing me off. If I'm not mistaken, this means I can get rid of my original copy because I'm going to have to spend $40 for the new content which includes the original game. Most of the stuff they fixed could have been done through patches and updates. I'm usually not one to complain about DLC because if it's a game I like, I'm always happy for new stuff, but this is a complete slap in the face to people who originally bought the game. There isn't even an option for people with the game already to just spend less for just the new content. Hopefully this changes, but this is Capcom we are talking about so I don't see that happening. I hope I am mistaken.

it better not be. if it is they better do a better damn job of just reskinning all the monsters to make them look dark and add new gear that isnt just reskinned if this is a new game they better add alot of new EVERYTHING

Yeah but the new content in it completely worth 20$, so you kinda pay for the game again, but since GameStop has a 20% trade bonus towards Dark Arisen you can either trade it (which will cost about 25$) or give it to a friend who never had a chance to play this great game. Plus with your original save file you'll get extra armors (skins) and infinite ferrystones and something else I think.
The expansion has a tons of new contents, fixed things from the original and a new area to explore, I've paid 20$ DLCs with way less content than this.
But they totally should have also release this as a separate DLC, they say that they couldn't or it would be to complex... it sounds weird, but since I know nothing at programming I can't really argue about that- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.

The other thing for people with save data that I heard about was 100,000 rift stones. Kind of nice, but pawns are pretty expensive these days.
