- Nov 7, 2012 2:49 pm GMTI have played the beta and I didn't like it.
So far the biggest map feels like a Generic really oversimplified version of Battlefield 2142 on a titan mode, you cant even man the guns on the ship yet thats the big thing in the air just sitting waiting to get hammered why not have it on ground in that case its just sitting there being of no use other than leaps of faith.
I know its just the beta still but I dont believe this is going to be the next MAG like many people have said before the lag is bad and the player count way too minimal for what we been shown the PS3 can handle.
Any other toughts on this?

And CCP is pretty good about latency issues (if its on their side). They do an awesome job with EVE online, just have a little faith friend

youre absolutely right i have a chance to get in everyday.. infact i have one of those codes that came b bundled with the new PS3s because someone didnt want it.. so technically i could play right now if i choose

and are your reasons valid or are you just here to whine about lag and hit detection?

Not at all. I'm just saying if they can't get something as simple as a stable title screen out of the way, then they have a lot of work to do.
I'm just not championing the whole "calm down, it's just a beta" line that was so popular a while back, because that ship has sailed imo.

I have played many beta's in different game types and one thing I can tell you is that beta's aren't too far off the finished product, yea there will be a few changes here and there but lets face it very few game changing ones.

so explain this for me then....
I played the DCUO beta... for 30 minutes before I deleted that garbage and moved on... then a year later when the game went free I decided to try i again... and this time it held my attention full 2 months before I deleted it and moved on again...
so if the beta isnt far off from the finished product why did that beta get trashed after 30 minutes but the retail release keep me occupied for 2 months?

what changes? simple
Beta = unplayable... stuck in walls, freezing constantly, falling through floors, voice chat only worked 1% of the time...
actual release = playable
now if only after hitting max level the game didnt consist of doing the EXACT same things EVERY 24 hours then it woulda held my attention longer than 2 months
