DUST 514 - Concept Trailer

Have not played any of the Eve installments but the trailer is interesting.

How immature are you folks? It's a game. Console players' comments make it seem like they're being conscripted and sent off to a real war, and PC players are using this as some sort of absurd vindication for their chosen gaming system's superiority. Grow up. If you don't think Dust 514 will be fun, don't buy it. If you don't like a console, don't buy it. Problems solved.

From what I understand the influence is to go both ways. EVE is generally very well balanced. I therefore have little doubt that CCP will think everything through thoroughly before releasing what I'm sure will be a great product if it delivers half of what it is trying to do, however I'm sure many iterations and DLC will be cycled through to get there if EVE is anything to go by. As far as I'm aware this will be the first example of a cross platform gaming world, I must admit regardless of the outcome I applaud CCP for trying such an ambitious achievement . I still look forward to playing this as both a console and PC player. As for NojYensog's contempt of EVE players, I trust you have played EVE? It's not for everyone granted, and has probably the hardest learning curve I have ever encountered in my 20+ years of playing video games..... You shouldn't be ashamed that you couldn't cope! However calling EVE players idiots when they clearly have managed to cope with such a gradient and enjoy the game before them is how shall I say, ignorant.

Great, just what I'll need- I'll be on the ground bustin' my ass to achieve an epic mission, and the pompous, hardcore EVE player in the sky above decides to callously change his mind and leave me out to dry- all because he got upset and learned that in real life, he isn't an AMARR or whatever... Love this concept, but HATE EVE gameplay and it's idiot players...

@Roggirek, and that is is exactly why it might fail. All those stuck up PC folks go on a powertrip and take the joy out of it. The concept is nice though, and future MMOFPS can add a tactical component which can be played on a console as well.

I remember reading about this in Edge last year, thought the idea sounded awesome and now this video confirms it! I can't wait to try both sides of it and see how well it works.

Nuking Consolites from orbit? Yes please.

As you can see, the consolites are the dirty peasants fighting in the dirt while the PC gaming master race are high up in the sky shooting down giant laser beams :D Epic video btw :)

I'll be honest if they pull this off I'm probably going to kill my PS3 by overplaying lol. Just got into Eve and already I'm blown away. Hopefully Dust 514 can do Eve justice and bring the two together nicely.

I'm really hoping they bring this to the PC. I like EVE a lot, but it's just way to complex to keep up with for me. This would be a great way to participate in the EVE universe.
