1 Like how can people complain about a free to play? if you dont like it fine but even if you do buy it without doing any research (your own fault) no money is lost
1 Like I haven't been a fan of this game as a long time eve player but the innovations on this trailer did a lot to change my mind. Eve is a great game, best, most fulfilling I've ever played. Harsh, cold and unforgiving if played right. I've never gotten the combat shakes from anything other game like i have with Eve.
The persistent characters, the skill training, the buying weapons the corporations, this will ensure if this game does make it it's filled with the right kind of players for the Eve universe... and not those who whine about "getting backstabbed by Eve players"... and if it fails, it fails. That's the New Eden way.
You want unicorns and fairys, go play My Little Pony Online. Eve is death.
DO NOT BUY INTO THIS HORRIBLE GAME, this is from a Beta player, the FPS mechanics are nowhere near AAA (laggy, awkward movement and strafing and hit detection is really bad), and the map graphics are PS2 levels. It's too bad the concepts were great, an FPS and a metagame of corporate alliances built on an in-game economy and an MMO all in one. And yes the game is still at beta stage but the 'official release' is soon so they won't change the shooting mechanics, which is 70% of the gameplay and usually what keeps people coming back.
1 Like @SymonLeTueur You do realize that its a WIP and that it went into BETA in a very different way from games like BF right?They go into beta more as a publicity stunt than anything else, this game actually isn't finished. Just in the last four months they have RADICALLY improved it.
Also the Official release isn't soon.. Its on a "will be released when ready" schedual.
Yep, a great idea wrapped around a subpar FPS. CCP has great ideas but they seem to struggle making games fun for people who aren't obsessive compulsive.

3 Like @gamefreak215jd How can an FPS MMO that cross-platforms into a PC MMO be a rip off? Maybe you're referring to the gameplay? I love BF3 but I also want innovation in such a way as Dust 514
so no one is allowed to have big maps and vehicles or its a battlefield ripoff? and by the way it looks nothing alike battlefield aside from scale and vehicles
1 Like Its funny how this trailer comes out just as my 14 day trail for eve is about to expire. I must say, based on the free trail, eve online makes game like call of duty and WOW look like a kiddie pool, because EVE is simply the deepest, most unpredictable game I ever played. Yes it is complicated, and its not something you can just suddenly jump into the action, but thats the beauty of it. You can decide on your style of play in a much more strategic way than any other game I played. I dont buy many games these days, but i might just pick up a copy of this.
@xtremeflem2day I can also appreciate the complexities of the EVE/Dust franchise. But I still don't like either games. F2P(What DUST 514 is) shouldnt be something initially complex but should be basic at the core and have deeper mechanics and tactics.
Lets face it F2P is designed to lure as many players as possible and with the initial difficulty it has, will end up hindering its popularity. Thats what I think anyway.

This is looking like a really complex game that will require a big commitment from the player. Did I understand it right that whenever a player dies they'll loose any weapons or equipment they bought and they'll have to buy it all again?
1 Like @PlatinumPaladin Yes but you buy items in bulk. For example, I could buy 20 assault rifles for 60,000 ISK. You buy your equipment before you head into battle. The prices for weapons aren't uber expensive. You'll never spend all the money you've been saving up for the past few days to buy a single piece of equipment.
1 Like No PC version? But seriously, did a Caldari dreadnought got obliterated from a ground installation? There is no way any eve player will take that kind of risk!
@ZingFreelancer I think that Sony is going to see how it fares on PS3 first then pop it onto PC later on. I dont see why they wouldnt release it on PC since EVE is PC and directly link to this game.
@ZingFreelancer well it makes it far since eve players can bomb the ground there has to be a way to defend against that

4 Like Its still on beta phase and i enjoy it more than any full version game i currently have, it is complicated a bit but once you get the hang of it its ton of fun.DUST 514 free-to-play NOT pay-to-win (trust me) MMOFPS
Looks intresting, from what beta people are saying it might be a case of wait for the first patch to release be4 playing though but time will tell.
5 Like I played the Beta of 514 for 4 days didn't not understand the game at all. most complicated FPS I've ever played. it's like BF3 + MAG + INFO Over Load = Dust 514
Reminds me of MAG and that was a game that ate up my time and entertained me for hours on end, and this is free to play, Dust 514 you have officially caught my eye.

8 Like Looks interesting but I'm suspicious that it'll end up being a milked-out game that's just pay-to-win, where I end up being slaughtered by 10-year-olds who use mom's money to pay $75 to level up faster and kill me with a nuclear bomb while I'm attacking them with an awesomo-helmet and staple gun.
1 Like @Gblazer01 I really didn't like it at first too, Infact I almost deleted it. It seemed like it should have been in alpha when it was in beta. I just started playing it again recently and I've found that they have improved a lot. Graphics are better, fps is a little bit better, added more depth to the game, corps have been added and game play overall feels smoother. I don't know when you played it but I would encourage anyone who hasn't played after the 3.0 patch to try it again. I think its important to remember that the game still isn't finished and it does still need some work.
