Unlimited weapons? And a quiz? Easy to miss this stuff!!!

So I read the topics on here, and I think I missed some stuff...

There's unlimited weapons? I visited the old guy in the basement, and he looked at a bunch of items which look like presents... Nothing happened. All my weapons are still normal. What gives? Is he supposed to upgrade them? Most of them are maxxed out from crystal upgrades, but there's nothing fancy about their performance.

There was also a minigame involving Yamoto (camo kid) and the shotgun. I had to walk up to it slowly. I got it. Was this supposed to improve the shotgun? Because it's as crappy as it ever was, with exactly the same stats.

Also, I think I missed out on the quiz. I kept visiting Regan, but nothing happened. Now Chris is in the mechanical chair at Tech Base. Was I supposed to get some kind of special item from finishing the quiz? Is it too late?

What are these unlimited weapons? Do they allow constant firing without reloading?

once you upgrade a weapon fully, you can upgrade again to get it in its ultimate form although this will require max affection with certain characters

for the quiz, once you beat it you unlock a mission which will unlock that teacher if you beat it

the old man provides materials when you get each character at max affection

Oh wait, this stuff only pops up during newgame+, right?

Finished it today, and got the unlimited weapons.

The old man gives you items that you can use to make perfect versions of certain guns. To get these items you need to max out friendship (<3 eyes) a character and you will unlock the item needed to unlock the unlimited version of a given gun. This gun is based off whatever one the character uses and you need to max out the gun before you get the option. Also not every gun gets an unlimited version.

I believe the shotgun mini game is required to max out his friendship.

The quiz is unlocked after beating the game and will unlock a mission if you get them all right. Also doing this mission will unlock Regan, so it's pretty important and not.

Unlimited weapons are just a level beyond "max" for certain guns. They're merely called "unlimited" because the game thats what the game displays.
