Fable III User Review
- Difficulty:
- Easy
- Time Spent:
- 10 to 20 Hours
- The Bottom Line:
- "Uninspired"
I have to start by mentioning I hate Windows Live, it took me over 30 min only to get the damned game running because of windows game live asking me to jump through hoops, register this, update that, all in the most confusing way possible.
Now to the actual game:
So you are playing a prince that is destined to save the world, not the most original but anyway, the problem is that said prince is socializing by burping, farting, putting up silly stance shows etc.
For me that breaks the immersion.
Unfortunately thats not the only problem with Fable 3.
The game design is really basic, to me it seems lazy.
in Fable 2 you had the feeling you could go anywhere and explore, in Fable 3 you are confined on following a narrow path.
There is no quest journal, side quests are a mess, you dont know what character asked for what, where it is located and they have no sign over their head or anything.
Not to mention all the side quests are identical, namely go deliver this or go fetch that.
The so called maps dont show your location so they are pretty much useless.
The advancement in the game is made at preset points in the story, by means of opening chests....i wonder if they could think of something more uninspired.
It wouldnt be a bad game but everything seems to be so sloppy designed, i find myself gawking at the screen and wondering what the [bleep] were they thinking when they made it like that.
I only lasted like 10 hrs in the game before i gave up out of boredom.
My feeling is that it could have been a good game, but it ended up being a very mediocre one, mainly because of its very basic, unpolished and simplistic design.
