Its not god, heck, i dont even think its official. Use in game context for your arguments, not some stupid wiki.

You're right! Sorry guys, must've missed that tiny detail. = /

GFAQs really needs to put in an Edit function, seriously. T_T

    Minor Update:

Science Bobblehead: The Bobblehead can be found on a shelf inside the Living Quarters of Vault 106, within the room to the far East. Vault 106 itself is located North-West of Vault 101 and South-South-East of the Arefu settlement.

Furthermore you can obtain all of the Vault locations by proceeding through the Main Quest, questioning Scribe Rothchild and checking the Terminals at the Citadel.

No, my scenario has no what ifs, because I don't have a scenario. Maybe Fawkes was female, maybe not. It is your claim that Fawkes was definately female that has what ifs, and more specifically your claim that Fawkes was D624. For Fawkes to be D624, that means D624 did not die (possible, but not particularly likely), D624 healed her mental capabilities somehow (maybe possible, but even less likely), D624 was then forced back into the same cell she was in previously or her mental recovery just happened to be between the last log entry from the Chief Physician and the time the mutants escaped (both of which are more unlikely than likely), and anything else I missed. Add all those up, and the odds are good that Fawkes is not D624, and without something more concrete than "the peices can be made to fit", I'm not buying it.

Furthermore. . . straight from a comment in the editor: "If the player has rescued Fawkes, he is moved outside Raven Rock, and set to wait for the player." Seems some developer just called Fawkes "he", not "she". Developer > Fallout Wiki, thanks. (That's Quest MQ09, Quest Stage 1, for reference.) Additionally, a comment in MQ08QuestScript says "short Method ;1= Fawkes explained how to get him out of cell."

Now, going to the dialog with Fawkes, we find out three things. First, he vaguely remembers being human when there were scientists around, meaning he's not a new addition, as you stated. However, that does *not* mean he was created by humans. We're presuming the mutants escaped at some point, and would have taken over the facility. Any human survivors would have been used to create more mutants--Fawkes could easily have been one of them. Second, we find out is that Fawkes did *not* go crazy, at least according to him. When he didn't succumb to the pain of forming, his creators considered him a failure. This leads me to conclude Fawkes isn't D624 because A, D624 went crazy while Fawkes didn't and B, the humans considered going crazy failure, so it stands to reason Fawkes would have been a gleaming success for them--as such, Fawkes was either created by mutants or different humans than the ones who created D624. Third, he was placed in the cell *after* his transformation, unlike D624 who went through the transformation inside the cell.

Again, I'm not saying Fawkes was definitely male; I'm just saying there's precious little evidence Fawkes is definitely D624, and therefore precious little evidence Fawkes is definitely female.

Once again you are grasping at straws, the majority of your argument stems from speculation rather than evidence.

Anyway, this charade is about to end, I've sent an Email to Bethesda directly regarding the matter, just waiting for a reply.

The Pyromaniac perk is of questionable usefulness. It apparently only effectively increases the damage of ONE weapon usable the whole game, out of the three that are flame-based.

The Firelance only has around 200-300 shots worth of ammo that you'll find throughout the entire game, and as it is a random encounter, it may NEVER happen. It also cannot be repaired fully.

The Flamer does 107 damage, 160 damage with the perk. The Burnmaster flamer does 160 damage whether you have the perk or not, as Pyromaniac has no effect on this weapon for some reason, probably because it would make it too overpowered. All that is involved in acquiring it is walking down a tunnel and picking it up.

That leaves the Shishkebab. It is unclear whether the 50% damage bonus applies to the total damage the weapon does, or just the burning damage of 2 damage/second. Regardless, it seems like a waste of a perk that really is only useful for the Shishkebab, unless you plan on using that as your main weapon the whole game.

You wouldnt happen to have the location on super mutant behemoths? I'd assume they belong in this topic.

Hey! I'm having one of those things! It's like headache with pictures!

the terminal says that D624 was a female but she also had a cellmate whos gender was unknown and it also says that D624 was killed so that means that Fawkes would have to be her cellmate and not D624.
that means that Fawkes gender is unknown

That leaves the Shishkebab. It is unclear whether the 50% damage bonus applies to the total damage the weapon does, or just the burning damage of 2 damage/second. Regardless, it seems like a waste of a perk that really is only useful for the Shishkebab, unless you plan on using that as your main weapon the whole game.

Responded in the other thread, but here goes...

It boosts both. The Shishkebab isn't simply a weapon in the game; it's the best melee weapon in the game. And since it's a crafted weapon, you can acquire it pretty early: buy the schematics from a caravan merchant or find them in a shack, and get all the parts at Lucky's (which has parts for other crafted weapons as well). So melee characters should be using the Shishkebab for the vast majority of the game, and the Pyromaniac perk increases that damage by 50%. Hence the endorsement for melee weapons characters.

Obviously, the utility of the perk is based on the utility of the Shishkebab. If the DLC includes a melee weapon that does more damage than the Shishkebab, even with the perk, then Pyromaniac would probably be pulled from the list.

Alas folks, the speculation regarding Fawkes' gender prior to F.E.V exposure comes to a close, and right from the mouth of the Devs might I add.

A few weeks back I directly emailed Bethsoft regarding the matter and this has recently come through.

From: Matt Grandstaff (mgrandstaff@bethsoft.com) on behalf of Press2005 (press2007@bethsoft.com)

    Fawkes was female.

    There it is.

    Plain.
