I wish I didn't suck so bad at stealth.

I'm never good at stealth in any game, really.
I managed to take one Outpost without being detected at all. It felt so rewarding and exciting.
But no matter how careful I am, and how thoroughly I scout and tag everyone, and how I try different approaches, some jackass always sees me. Or a stupid dog finds me. I crouch and move slowly, use foliage, rocks, and terrain for cover, use Silent Takedowns and the Recurve Bow, etc.
Anyone else having a hard time with stealth?

Nope. Two easy ones. Want a tip? Wildlife. Once I just crept into the encampment and right behind me a tiger ran in and tore everyone to bits. Not a bullet fired. Extra points for stealth. I win.
Another one had a caged tiger. Shoot the cage.
Or practice and get better at stealth.

Spam rock throwing to make enemies look in one direction, then do takedowns of the guys in the back. It really helps when there's dogs around, cause they'll run right to wherever the rock was thrown.

Get really good with the bow. one camp all i did was toss a rock, draw someone in, kill repeat. until two guys close together were left, so i chanced it and managed to get them both before either spotted me.
so satisfying indeed

It's not you it's the game. I've always been great at stealth but this game isn't built enough around that to do it effectively or practically

Stealth is pretty easy on hard. The stealth in this game is pretty forgiving so far.

Yeah, I'm guessing someone didn't play the original Far Cry. The stealth in that game was absolutely impossible.

For stealth I use rock throws and a bow to my advantage. You should be able to distract a few people, take down the guy in the back and then shoot the guy who might spot you relatively easily. If the dog is about to spot you take it out with the bow and the rest should be easy. If there is an animal nearby or in the outpost you can try to use that to your advantage. (Ex: I was hunting a tabir and was near an outpost. Got attacked by a tiger ran towards the outpost and then hid in some grass. The tiger proceeded to massacre everyone in the outpost and killed my tabir).
Also, I don't know how long you wait but if I'm going stealth I tend to wait around 5-10 min before I start attacking. I scout out the area and plan way ahead before I go in. Its just something I learned in real life and I just apply it to stealth games.

I try to find a hill that over looks an outpost with a lot of foliage. Scout out as many enemies as possible, then use a sniper rifle with a silencer and take them out one at a time. I never sit in one spot for too long, I move around the hill. Some times back stepping so I can circle to the other side, hide in more foliage and continue sniping.

Give it enough practice, you'll be chaining bad ass takedowns and bowing people like Rambo.
Though of you can, always carve a silent path to the alarm fire just in case.
