Far Cry 3 User Review
Looks like Ubisoft wants to use and waste the same formula in every single game. This is a tropical Assassins Creed.

- The Bottom Line:
- "Been there, done that"
Far Cry 3 is the perfect example of how the gaming industry is more focused on sellling than on entertaining.
Yes the graphics are AMAZING, the way the water shines and reflects, the scenary, the trees, vegetation, the sky... BEAUTIFUL, it traps you. Sometimes I am in the top of a hill or mountain and just stand there for some minutes to look the horizon, is relaxing.
But in the other hand, as you might already know young mates, graphics DOES NOT determine if a game is good!!.
Big corporations like Ubisoft are focused on selling titles, to a demographic target of boys from 12-21yo that buy an average of 1 to 2 titles a month, and on christmas season spend around $100-400USD on video games, consoles and gaming accesories. (Let me be clear, a target demographic does not mean that only those in it buy the game, is the way a company focus their marketing efforts, ad campaigns, the designign of a games, the themes, subjects and gameplay, they look for the selling formula and the only way to make it is by focusing on the target market).
Having said that, a winner formula is Assassins Creed gameplay... and you will find exactly the same in this game. In Far Cry you need to climb to an antenna (exactly the same as viewpoints in AC) in order to know what is happening around it, go down, make some side missions, and keep on the main quest whenever you feel like.
Believe me, is the same gameplay but instead of Venice or Jerusalem, in the middle of some nice islands. Instead of third person combat, first person shooter...
Ubisoft find a winner formula and believe me, they will drain it until the sales drops.
Is sad to see how the gaming industry is focusing on sales instead of quality, originality, creativity and performance.
