In my opinion Far Cry is a FPS gaming franchise which has pushed the limits of First Person Shooters to a greater extent showing how potent a FPS game could be.
Far Cry 3 is a quite good game,despite of getting bored frequently from it's free roam and some repetitive missions,there is not much to criticize about this game generally for me.There are a whole heap of new features in gameplay in this new instalment. New combat skills/moves,Character skill upgrades(in aspects such as health,mobility,combat and survival),new expanded equipment customization(like weapons,pouches,holsters etc.),new types of challenges and animals(for the first time in the Far Cry series you can go for hunting challenges and make use of animal skins and other body parts for customizing your equipment) are some of the new gameplay features introduced by this game.Unlocking weapons for free in stores by repairing communication towers is one of my favourite gameplay features of this game,I really love it!.

The story is not long as the one in Far Cry 2,and there are less choices to make unlike in Far Cry 2.however that does not mean that the story line is bad,for me it was really good as the storyline had a mix of reality,mystery and even mythology.The game also has badass characters like Vaas(Who is actually my favourite character) who are completely insane and very unpredictable.The story is unpredictable and has some memorable moments,insane, humourous and mysterious.

Unfortunately the PC version of Far Cry suffers a lot from frustrating glitches,crashes and visual problems.Although I am a budget gamer,I've played this game on top-notch PCs too.Although graphics are quite considerable,the gameplay glitches show up very frequently.problems with gear shifting in vehicles,lip syncing disorders,certain problems with interacting with the environment are some of the most frequent glitches in the PC version.The console versions also have glitches but at least they are not that annoying and frustrating as the ones in the PC version.The game shows some stuttering frame rates and lag spikes even in menu.The graphics are good for me but are somewhat disappointing for hardcore gamers and enthusiasts who are die-hard PC users with some beastly gaming rigs.I can't say the graphics are bad,but yet i can clearly see that Far Cry 3 isn't that top-dog in graphics unlike Far Cry 2 or Far Cry.(In about 2009 Far Cry 2 and Crysis Warhead had a fierce competition in graphics and were one of the best high-end games at that time).But I couldn't say the same for Far Cry 3.The details,especially vegetation look ugly.Environmental physics such as fire does not seem to be that realistic like it was in Far Cry 2. Draw-distance takes more time to render and result in some serious lag spikes which literally infuriates the gamer,At first I thought something was wrong with my Video Card,I tried at 800x600 at lowest settings and I get that lag spike as usual,especially when I'm in small towns in the game.

Honestly I think that Ubisoft should take more care when designing games for the PC system,and they should focus more on the PC system when it comes to graphics,glitches.Anyway it was a fun game after all,if you're a moderate gamer and a patient person,you'd find it fun anyway...
