GameSpot's first game night held live at CBS Interactive headquarters was a sight worth seeing! Blanca stopped by (well, in a costume) and there were some other people dressed up as famous Street Fighter characters. We plan to release some footage of the live event in the coming weeks. Everyone that attended the event in person received a miniature Chun Li figurine. Heck, some of the community game night members that played online also received a Chun Li figurine. We hope to have another live event similar to this one in the future.

Crysis Warhead is a lot of fun to play, even if snipers still rule the roost on all the old maps. Darn headshots! Regardless, we had a great time, and while a small-ish group of GSers showed up, the map soon filled up with other folks, making for a fun time. Special thanks to The_Diversion, for killing far more often than any other player. Way to go!

It's all about the crashes and the smashes and the badonkadonk. So we took part in freeburn challenges, raced, crashed, and otherwise had an insanely joyous time. Thanks to Don Francis for joining in, and to all the drivers who showed up and ganged up on me. It was a blast!

Patching issues galore! I wasn't able to join the fun, so I am grateful for the players the carried the torch for me! I got a replay sent to me but I haven't had a chance to look yet. When I do, I will post some footage, and announce an MVP!

Fighting games are as foreign to me as elk meat or yeti cheese, so I didn't expect to do well playing Soulcalibur IV. But I had a good time, and that is what really matters, right? I did get my ass kicked though, which may have delighted my opponents, who rolled over me like a tractor trailer over cookie dough.

I am no Smash Bros. Expert, but somehow I (good old KVO) managed to kick major ass in our latest GameSpot Game Night. Now, I know that I shouldn't spam Kirby's down-B, but I did just a tad. But not the whole time, and I was pleased that I mixed things up as well as I did. My nemesis, though, was Mr. Game & Watch, the one guy that would consistently deliver the beatdown. Way to go, remmbermytitans: you earned that emblem!

For a last-minute game choice, Forza 2 night went awfully well, though I can't pretend to be a driving game expert by any means. I surprisingly held my own though! Check out some highlights!

This game night was a lot of fun, though we did play on some funky maps. One had all this weird fog in random areas, was too wide open, was terribly unbalanced (assault class was totally useless), spawned you in the middle of the field--it didn't even have flags, which means creating it for Day of Defeat made no sense. Luckily, the people that showed up were awesome, and the official maps rocked to high heaven. Check out some highlights!

Poor Shaun lost his connection in the PS3 match, but that's ok, since the 360 match was also a ton of explosive fun. I hadn't played Bad Company before that, but it felt very much like a Battlefield game, and the action simply never stopped. It was like slamming 10 Red Bulls in a row. Boosh!

Not a whole lot of GameSpotters showed up, but that's ok, because the match filled up quickly with other players. I had played Crysis, but not online, so it took some getting used to. I was surprised at how enjoyable it was, and my newly built rig was quite up to the task of keeping things moving smoothly. PC games 4EVA!

We had a great time zooming around tracks from all around the world. Bumpers were bashed, cars were wrecked, and the GameSpot staff proved to be a formidable presence by driving backwards around some of the toughest tracks in the game. While we don’t have footage to share, if you imagined us having a lot of fun, you’d be right. Thanks to all who showed up.

It's no secret: I adore Metal Gear Solid 4. Game Night ended up being all sorts of awesome fun, thanks to the ease with which you can set up a series of matches in different modes. My only regret was that I was never chosen as Snake in the sneaking matches--and that I don't have any footage to share. However, we will do another MGO night soon, and I will be sure to show you highlights!

Halo 3 is loads of fun--no surprise there. My favorite part of the night was playing slayer on a small map with just rocket launchers. Brutal! My thanks to Don Francis for hosting a second game, and to all the players that showed up. I love King of the Hill. Just love it. Love love love.

This is the second time we have played an MMO for game night, the other being World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade. We didn't accomplish much, because we went into an epic instance, where the monsters take longer to kill, so the two hours went by in a flash! We did have plenty of fun killing crocodiles, however, and it was fun returning to the Conqueror I created for the AoC marathon. Check out some gameplay footage.

I have long known that even average or mediocre games can be awesome when you play them online with awesome people. Such was the case with Haze. I must admit, however, that part of my joy came from hearing Shaun, who sits in the cubicle next to me, boast about his knife kills. He also coined the term "nectar sac," though I prefer not to think too much about what that actually means. Check out some gameplay footage, and be careful not to let any nectar splash on you.

Alas, the server I was offered for the PC part of Team Fortress 2 was all jacked up, so a few users high-tailed it out when the lag got bad, and the rest switched to a buttery smooth server. My apologies to those folks--that's not exactly what I intended. To make it up to you I am going to schedule another TF2 night for you guys soon, and I will get a server that is in better shape. The game is too good to let it lag! The 360 folks had fewer issues, so I recommend checking out some awesome gameplay footage, courtesy of vgm007.

Mario Kart introduced me to more thrills and spills than I was expecting. Personal highlights include falls from the Rainbow Road, wrecks in Wario’s Gold Mine, and a lot of ding-a-ling sound effects. We did more than race, though, and I found I did far better at balloon battle than anything else. After all, I am a deathmatch lover at heart. But put to the mercy of my talented friends in the GameSpot community, I had no chance in Hades! Check here for the highlights. You can also see Sidburn19's highlights here.

Our second week of Grand Theft Auto IV included more thrills and spills, and featured more GameSpot editors online at once than you could shake a stick at. We played Mafiya Work, Cops & Crooks, and a lot more. I also watched as Shaun, Chris and Lark tried to conduct knife fights, only to have Justin disrupt the melee with a well-placed shotgun blast. In the meanwhile over on the PS3, I was disrupting my competitors by running over them in an ambulance or splashing them with a high-pressure spray from a fire engine. Good time. Good times. On April 8th, we played our first Wii game for GameSpot Game Night: Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I’ve never actually played a SSB game before, so I felt pretty intimidated by our users, who wiped the floor with me and my Kirby anvil spamming. Fortunately, Smash Bros. expert Lark Anderson joined in, so at least there was someone else on staff with skillz. Fighting games have never been my thing, and there's a very good chance you will never see me review one on GameSpot. On the other hand, Brawl is obviously a special game, and I had all sorts of crazy fun. We also had multiple emblem winners: _olimar, Lunar52, and timinator18. For proof of how crazy-awesome these nights can be, check out the video.
