Awesome, allowing people to work their own vision/styles creates the best storyline, visual, and animations. This business model should be adopted.

Diablo III: Wrath - Behind the Scenes of the Animated Short
The creator of Aeon Flux joins Blizzard and Titmouse to discuss the impending release of the Diablo short.
If you've visited the official Diablo III launch site, you might have noticed that there are a few items waiting to be unlocked. The final item is Diablo III: Wrath--an animated short developed with the help of Peter Chung, the creator of Aeon Flux. The video above offers a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the short with comments from Peter, as well as Nick Carpenter, Chris Metzen, and James Waugh of Blizzard, and Chris Prynosk, president and owner of Titmouse Inc.
Fans of Diablo III can help unlock Diablo III: Wrath by visiting the launch site and participating in activities, such as creating banners and using various social media tools to share content created by other users. Diablo III is scheduled for release on May 15.
Why not a full CGI short film :)
Anyways i dont like at all the whole animation/style... But its DIABLO!! so who cares. I cant wait!
Aeon Flux has to be one of the ugliest pieces of animation that I've ever seen.
I think CM's aviators bump up the leet factor about 2%
I friggin LOVED Aeon Flux in the 90's. MTV's Liquid TV and Oddities :D

@masterdrat It did? I just deleted my somewhat cynic post because I thought I had made a mistake and was being too cynical .It seems the moderator really loves this Pokemon movie made by George Michael from Wham!.
Well, I have yet to see Blizzard be 'a bit off the road' with it's games. There are always pesky naysayers and haters of course...
hype around diablo 3 is so much that if it is even a bit off the road everyone will get dissapointed. Marketing is a strong tool & i think blizzard has overdone it in diablo 3's case. !!May 15!!

I hope blizzard will declare statistics about ages who plays d3 most. Then maybe you will understand what i mean to. Most players who will play d3 were wetting their panties when we play diablo 1 and 2.
So will Diablo come to consoles? Or should i simply cry in the corner 'cause my PC isn't good enough?

@ugmugmugm thanks to the new comment system we can't dislike these posts to make them go away.
I love the theme that came in at 2:50! :D Very nostalgic! You just gotta remember that first walk outside the base in Act 1 :D
I love Peter Chung's work but i think his style changed much over the years. I miss that "bizarre-gritty" style Aeon Flux had. All his talent in animation remains buried under special effects, which dominates tradicional animation nowadays.
@masterdrat Yeah, lots. Gamespot are turning into an unstoppable media nazi machine with an agenda.
@dwjconley Do you know who Thrall is? Have you heard the phrase "Battlecruiser operational."? That's the guy you're making fun of. Try and pretend like you know that stuff before commenting. It helps everyone out.
Couldn't disagree more with some of the comments I'm seeing regarding the awesome and amazing Peter Chung's work with Diablo III: Wrath. I have a hard time believing people making those comments know much about who he is or what his influences are, but whatever...everyone's entitled to like what they like. Personally, I think getting him to work on this project is complete coup and am completely stoked to see his work. The creator of Aeon Flux doing Diablo? Pure win in my book.
@galacticat I agree. It's stated very clearly in the video: "Diablo filtered through the eyes of Peter Chung". I'm not sure why people think this peripheral, promotional piece of content will have any bearing on the game itself. People need to think before they comment. Looking forward to seeing Wrath.
@Benjo_t Yeah most people are simply saying that this 'view' of the diablo universe totally sucks. Just because you CAN look at something a certain way doesn't mean its a good idea.
@Benjo_t @galacticat As far as my comments are concerned, it's just a matter of personal taste. Nobody said anything about it having to do with the Diablo 3 game, but the franchise as whole in the future. No insults needed. I'm not trolling. I'm still very interested in seeing this animated short to see how it turns out.
I don't like the anime artstyle. Keep the style western medieval / gothic. Don't turn Diablo into WoW.
@startman_1999 Did we watch the same video? This is a mini-movie completely seperate from the game. The fact it's anime does not mean Diablo III will be anime. As for the comment about WoW... Warcraft is western fantasy too.
He never said Diablo as a whole was turning anime... And he is entirely right regarding WoW and its slide towards Asian flavored content. What companies need to realise is the asians love western design and art as much as we do.
@Benjo_t I remember when it WAS western fantasy with Warcraft 1-2. I like 3 as well, but that's when the art style started to change to cater to the asian market I think. And yes this is a mini-movie. I played the beta and loved, have the CE pre-ordered. I just don't want it to veer to the East stylistically like Warcraft has with WoW.
Not a fan of the art style. Characters done in a manga style does NOT suit the Diablo universe what-so-ever. And the colouring/shading just looks flat and uninteresting. Think I'm going to skip over watching that one.
blizzard said check back for their release!! That mean it will be released in 2 to 3 years.
Kinda funny they reveal the final unlock like this. For Starcraft 2 there was no mention at all until it was finally unlocked.
@James00715 I agree.. sort of spoils the surprise. Underwhelming. Can't wait for the game though :o)
