Find out all about the exciting new features available in the newly updated iPhone app, available on the App Store now.
It's been a long time coming, but we've finally released an updated--and much improved--iPhone app for GameSpot out into the wild.
From the ground up, we've reimagined how our app looks and works, and we've added in a bunch of additional functionality. It's easier to find the content you're looking for than ever, and it's easier to share that content with your friends on Facebook or Twitter. Download it today!
- Improved UI with less intrusive ads
- New search that lets you find all of the content for a game in addition to the game itself
- New reviews section to help you get to all of the latest reviews with their scores prominently displayed
- New eSports section so you can stay up-to-date on the eSports world
- Games section now includes a release calendar
- News section allows you to more easily find and read the latest news headlines
- Push notifications to keep you in the know about breaking news
- Now easier to share content with friends through Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.
- iOS 6 compatible, including full support for the iPhone 5 Retina screen
If you can take the time to review us in the App Store, we'd really appreciate it, and please feel free to post any feedback you may have below in the comments.
"Now easier to share content with friends through Facebook, Twitter, email, etc."
Anyone mind if I laugh about this today instead of waiting 10 years like the rest of the world?!
I'll check it out. I hated the last app. The mobile site is pretty intuitive so I generally just use that.
Can you comment yet? I'd rather just have to zoom and scroll on the original site than a mobile version..
G$ always only cared about the US based M$ and Cr.Apple fanboys anyway...
It is obvious in each and every of their biased articles, no wonder they only support the 360 and the iOS...
Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!......... Oh iphone? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Also once you make an Android App, dont you guys dare to just copy/paste the interface of the iOS version for the Android. Use Google's guidelines for the Holo interface.
I use Android, but even the mobile browsing for Gamespot is bad actually, and they should refine that as well.
@hellangel_boy The site is being rebuilt from the ground up so you should expect your wishes to come true at that time. ;)
these posts are so funny to read. When apple users complain about wanting a game to port to mac, the widows community screams "buy a PC." When an app comes out for the iPhone and not an android that same community ( more or less) screams "make it for us"
@Monsta1217 Lies..It is BEYOND easy to program on android.
@torrne667 Debatable. Objective C is no where as easy as Java, but supporting different versions of Android poses new problems. Personally I'd still think Android was easier but that's just because Java can be done well by a freshman in high school.
@IAMTYLERDURDEN That can be said for anything on the internet ;)
@nisgos @obsequies @torrne667 @Monsta1217 I agree but when it comes to games, people who are willing to shell out enough to buy apple products will typically pay for an app compared to the majority of android users who only want a tablet for simple functions. There are powerful android devices and users who are really into droid gaming but I would say with confidence that there is less piracy and more paying consumers on apple products. especially for games
@torrne667 Well tell that to the fine folks at Gamespot lol
wtf, more people have androids now then iphones yet companys keep developer more apps for iphones. :(
It's not available in my country
I have always hated when something like the place I live in is an obstacle for me to get something that could allow me to watch more content from you guys.
Well, what can I do
