The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Walkthrough
Stop right there criminal scum. Our The Elders Scrolls V Skyrim Walkthrough provides strategies for the main quest, crafting tips, and secrets about guilds.
Taking Care of Business
Regardless if you succeeded or botched the initial Thieves quest, Brynjolf will ask you to meet with him at the Ragged Flagon. The Flagon is the same pub visited in the main storyline quest, so check that section for tips against the enemies inside.
Brynjolf will task you with collecting debts from three different marks: Bersi Honey-Hand, Haelga, and Keerava. You can do them in any order, and as a bonus the final target will always surrender their Septims without any trouble.
Bersi is inside the Pawned Prawn. You can be convinced to give up his money by destroying the urn right in front of him. You can also opt to brawl with him. Of course there is the option to straight up kill Bersi and loot his body, though this won't go over with the guild.
Keerava is inside the Bee and Barb. The easiest way to convince the lizard lady is to talk to Talen-Jei, who is also typically inside the pub. You can have him talk to Keerava for you and she will give you the money once you speak to her. Alternately you can brawl or kill Keerava, though the guild isn't keen on murder.
Haelga is inside Haelga's Bunk house. The fastest way of getting her money is to loot the statue near her counter. Be sure to hide while doing this or you might rack up a bounty. With the statue in hand confront Haelga to gain her gold. Like the other two victims you can also brawl or kill them.
Once you have the loot from all three patrons, return to Brynjolf for your next task. You are officially in the guild and can speak to Tonilia for a Thieves Guild Outfit. This set of gear will provide extra carrying capacity, sneak, pickpocket, and lockpicking success. You can also enter the exit the Flagon through the back entrance in Riften's cemetery.
