Tom Clancy's Ghosts return after a five-year break in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
After five years out of the spotlight, Tom Clancy's Ghosts return this month in Future Soldier. Quite aptly then, they're returned with an upgrade from Advanced to Future soldiers, now packing enough ultramodern tech hardware to make Skynet blush. One of the more iconic pieces of future tech is the new optical camo: imagine Solid Snake's octocamo suit combined with some of the stealth abilities of Prophet's nanosuit.
We had the opportunity to play the single-player campaign this week and demo a number of missions across a variety of environments. Check out the gameplay movies below to see the Ghosts in action across a sandstorm-plagued desert, an arctic plane, and a military compound at night.

I really like these somewhat realistic tactical type games. There seem to have been fewer of them out there in recent years with a good campaign mode so I'm glad to see Ghost Recon back on the scene. This game looks good and appears to have some serious fun in store for gamers.
1 Like The only Tom Clancy titles I've played have been the Splinter Cell (Sam Fisher kicks ass) series way back in the day. I'm sooo jealous that Conviction was only for xbox. :'(
BUT now after spending a good $h!tload of hours playing the beta for Future Soldier and a lot of reading up and watching video on the game I will say that this one is now on my games to buy in 2012 list. ;)
I think the campaign will be fantastic though I have some reservations about the multiplayer given the feedback I've seen from people who played the beta. Either way I'm looking forward to picking this one up - loved the last Ghost recon's and also more recently Splinter Cell conviction.

I preordered this months ago. I have always loved the more strategic approach of this series. Let's just hope the gameplay measures up in all respects, includes more game modes, and improves not just the game tech, but those areas the series had particular weakesses in the past.
1 Like some stealth abilities look similar to those on Deus Ex Humar Revolution... only you don't need to eat protein bars to knock a guy down or to become invisible or to look trough walls. i mean, thats just sad, having metal arms with explosives and blades and yet one of two guys will be able to kick your bum if you're out of ammo or protein bars.
i enjoyed the previous ghost recon it was a great game, hoping for the same and better here, so far looks promising, hoping the campaign has a great story, from the previews it looks overall to be quite a good game hopefully they'll deliver :)
I think it's gonna be a cool game but I don't really like the look of the invisible camo thing...looks kind of weird
Always enjoy the GR series. Glad they scaled back the "future" stuff. The game looks so much different than what Ubisoft showed in the beginning. Crazy how they brought it back to more recent gear/era and COD pushed it to the future.
hey, this game looks pretty cool... and all this time i thought GRFS was a first person shooter, hahaa!
Having enjoyed the previous GR games I had negative feelings about the earlier details of this game. It all appeared too hi tech & flashy but this new footage has some what brought my Interest back. The game Is looking Interesting & we are over due for a shooter that requires tactics, hopefully this will fill that until the next RS title.
The game looks interesting, to me at least because I'm a TPS fan. I might buy this if reviews are positive but probably next month coz Max Payne 3's comin up.
1 Like I have got to say this game looks pretty amazing. I know I have not played in the BETA but I don't understand why this game seems to be getting such a bad rap, even before it has been released.
To be 100% real ghost reezy do-key, i played the beta and if thats all this games has in store for me... ill keep my money, and stay playing battlefild and cod. ps they been away so long they made an xbox1 and ps2 game
