We Play: Xenoblade Chronicles
By Staff
GameSpot's Kevin VanOrd continues his playthrough of this epic role-playing game for the Nintendo Wii.
Continuing where our episode of Now Playing left off, GameSpot editor Kevin VanOrd continues his playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles. In this installment, we get to know buddies Shulk and Reyn as they rid a cave of its vermin, only to discover a new enemy has awakened. What are these new foes? What prompted their aggression? Why do bunny rabbits wield clubs with their tails? Tune in to find out whether these questions are answered, or if new ones arise in their stead!
You breaking mah heart KVO! Now everybody has forgotten about this awesome playthrough!
Hey all! I will try and get one or two more episodes up this week. Stay tuned :)
you don`t have to force yourself to do all the part kevin. i know this game and its still long way to win lol
I already beat the game, let me tell you something guys 1st NoA is crazy, 2nd you cant imagine how great this game is, and its ending. Incredible turn of events.
Kevin, I heard that you are reviewing Skyrim. Lucky guy. Playing Xenoblade AND Skyrim at the same time. Talk about hundreds of hours of good RPG.
Kind of sad the only way to "enjoy" the game is to watch someone else playing :( When is NoA change its mind about bringing it over to America continent?
every day i keep visiting this page to check for new parts can you please give us an approximate date for the next part every time your finished from a part thx
kevin, i found out the collectopaedia also after a few hours :) what a game. so much to explore. for me, next to resident evil 4, the best game for wii a the moment. waiting for zelda of course. good to see you play this game. trying to beat a big guy with a huge hammer at the moment.
Sorry it took so long, everyone! Part 6 has arrived. Working on making the video higher quality for next time.
Kevin it look like you didnt win the contest so you wont continue to post videos this is the only explanation i can think of to why part 6 is not out
I played 140 hours and finally finished this game such a great game this game had a great ending too im not sure but it would have probably been more fun if I didnt try to be a complete everything kinda player and just did story missions main bosses would have been a whole lot funner to take on FInal boss got his butt kicked in like 2 minutes while at the max level
I remember 5-6 months ago when I had to scour the internet for Xenoblade news. And now when we, American, gamers can't have it, its everywhere.
Finally started playing this game. I'm addicted to it best JRPG I've played in a really long time. Its so refreshing to be playing this as I've been playing a lot of shooters. Only gripe with it is the graphics the huge area's to explore can look great but up close the game has some horrible textures and character models. I wouldn't mind a Wii U version
Just one thing I find really awkward watching your playthrough: You never initiate with the "Start Battle" command. It's great, really. Not only does it give you tension (=morale, higher tension->better evade/hit chance), but can be used from afar and while u wait a second, Reyn will have initated and already build up some aggro, so you can make use of your side- and backattacks. This will especially help versus stronger enemies like named ones, where it is rather fatal not to have the aggro on reyn and low tension. Also, Monado Enchant gives some atk power even while not fighting Mechon (it's nice), and the Monado Buster deals some good amount of damage even to non-mechon enemies, while Monado Shield is pretty worthless to use while not having a vision of a white colored enemy attack (no use versus red or purple, only white). I hope you found those small hints to be helpfull and keep it up!
http://wii.nintendolife.com/news/2011/10/nintendo_europe_launches_japanese_rpg_trio_contest Now i know why all the video on youtube we are helping you to get views Kevin_V so you better make videos of The Last Story and Pandora's Tower when you win
here's a solution, for those of u who have some time and patience, oh and the will to really seek this game out - acquire the iso, PAL (it's in english), get an emulator and play. don't mess with ur wii. U might not get an exactly perfect level of play, but u'll finally stop whining about america this and boo-hoo that and move on with ur lives
LMAO I find it hilarious that Gamespot is rubbing this awesome looking game in our American gamers faces while they play it yet they are connected to GameFAQs....where discussing how to bypass the region lock on your Wii gets you moderated HA HA, talk about messed up! In all honesty Im wondering if they think getting this game exposure will change Nintendo's mind about a USA release. It is a VERY slim chance and highly doubtful.
Hope operation rainfall can one day be sucessful on day :( in the mean time i will watch these videos.
