Representing Evolution (RAW), Representing the New Ministry (Smackdown!)
Date: 2nd week of August: Show 3
Match Type: Tag Match
Special Conditions: Normal
Your third match on RAW or Smackdown! is a final tag team tune up before a major showdown at one of the big WWE pay-per-view events, next weeks Summerslam. This is a standard tag team match up with no special conditions or rules. Defeat your opponents along with your tag partner (Haas or Batista depending on your show selection) to move the story to the next match.
Destroying the Competition (RAW), Burying the Competition (Smackdown!)
Date: 3rd week of August: Show 4
Match Type: Tag Match, TLC Match
Special Conditions: None
Its your first pay-per-view battle: a tables-ladders-chairs (TLC) tag team match. Your opponents depend on which show you chose; expect Shelton Benjamin and Edge on RAW and Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio on Smackdown!
In a TLC match, you have access to tables, ladders, and chairs and any of these can be used as weapons. To win the match, you must use a ladder to reach the belt hanging above the ring. The first tag team member to grab the belt wins the match for that team. Note also that all tag team members are in play; theres no need to tag in and out.
The challenge is getting up the ladder and reaching for the belt before a member of the opposing team knocks you off. Likewise, as soon as you see an opponent climbing the ladder, forget what youre doing and get to the ladder and use the "B" button to strike the ladder and knock your opponent off.
Use the tables, ladders, and chairs as weapons to pulverize your opponents. Its a quick way to drain health and spirit. It can keep your opponents on the ground for extended periods of time, which is key to setting the ladder up and reaching the top for a win. You could also take the fight outside the ring. Muscle your opponent around out there and leave him on the ground after a devastating special move. Return inside the ring and while your tag teammate occupies the other opponent, set up the ladder and ascend.
Set up the ladder in as close to the rings center as possible. The belt hanging above does sway back and forth so you can certainly be off to the left or right and still reach the belt. Get up the ladder quickly and use the "Y" button at the ladders top to jump for the belt. Your tag teammate will also do a decent job of setting ladders up and going for the belt so if need be occupy your opponents with weapon attacks while Haas or Orton grab that belt.
Number One Contenders? (RAW and Smackdown!)
Date: 4th week of August: Show 5
Match Type: Tag Match
Special Conditions: None
After a great showing at Summerslam, its back to the grind in this standard tag team match against familiar rivals. With no special conditions or rules, its a straight up tag battle. Conduct the fight under your control, tag in your partner, or use a mixture of both to defeat your opponents. Dont forget to continue to maximize your attribute bonus with effective counters and the use of special moves to close out the contest. The match is over when a cut scene interrupts the action; youre attacked during the pin!
Divide and Conquer (RAW and Smackdown!)
Date: 1st week of September: Show 6
Match Type: Single Match
Special Conditions: Once the referee is knocked out, use your finishing move on the opponent.
Evolution (on RAW) or New Ministry (on Smackdown!) have a new plan to deal with your tag team rivals. Its called divide and conquer. In the plan, youll face off against one opponent while your partner (Batista on RAW or Haas on Smackdown!) battles the other. You have special orders, however; you need to assist your tag team partner by knocking out the referee and performing your finishing move on the opponent.
In this show you dont play your own match; a cut scene reveals its outcome (you win, naturally). The true match becomes when your tag team partner battles his opponent. Youre assisting either Batista (RAW) or Charlie Haas (Smackdown!). Orders are to knock out the ref then use your finishing move on your tag teammates opponent.
You begin the contest with near full special meter. Its difficult to raise your special meter so if you miss the finishing move, it could be awhile before you have a chance again--so make your first special state count!
Before you take down the ref, just enter the ring and perform some strikes or grapples on your teammates opponent. Build your special meter until you can perform a special move. Return outside the ring and grab a weapon from underneath the mat (hold "X" while against the ring). Enter the ring, switch targets to the ref, and then smack him around with the weapon. If possible, throw him out of the ring. The longer he stays away the better.
Now its time to turn your attention to your tag teammates opponent. Get your tag teammate away from the opponent (you can even hit him if you want, there arent consequences). Enable your special state then perform your finishing move on the opponent. This immediately ends the match.
The most important thing to remember is to not waste your special state because gaining more on your special meter is very difficult. Dont activate your special state unless the ref has just been knocked out because you dont want to be sent out of the ring with your special active--youll never have time to perform the finishing move and will have to start all over again.
