This idea is the most fanatically appealing and hoped for for over a decade for me. I hope they will be able to accomplish this feat as many fans of this game will be anxiously awaiting a historic and epic revival of a classic.
Whether it's a portent of a new FFVII remake or not is unknown, but the FFVII tech demo is still one of the most exciting videos we've seen at E3 2005.
One of the more impressive aspects of the Sony press conference was the appearance of a so-called Final Fantasy VII "Technical Demo for PS3," a re-creation of the original CGI intro for Final Fantasy VII rerendered in real-time for the PS3 hardware. The power of the PS3 is immediately apparent, as the low-poly CGI of the original game is replaced with some impressively modeled characters (Aeris actually looks recognizably human now). After pulling back to reveal Midgar in all its plume-of-smoke glory, the sequence cuts back to the train from which Cloud first appeared in FFVII. Instead of being up about 100 polygons with big blocks for hands, though, Cloud here appears to be almost as realistically rendered as he is in the FFVII: Advent Children all-CGI movie.
At the outset, the tech demo features a profile of Aeris, doing her flower-selling thing on the streets of Midgar. As the camera pulls back, we see the actual cars on the streets, faithfully modeled and bouncing realistically, until finally it pulls all the way out to a panorama of Midgar itself, complete with iconic green smoke issuing forth from the chimneys of Shinra's power-generating facilities. Soon enough, flashes of the train from the opening sequence of the game appear, and Cloud appears, big-ass sword in tow. The sequence ends with a--we admit it--absolutely gorgeous close-up of Cloud with his sword.
The speculation now revolves around whether or not the "Technical Demo" of FFVII intimates that there will actually be a full remake of the game for the PS3, which is something that fans of Final Fantasy have been begging for for years. Final Fantasy VII is still arguably the most well-regarded of the Final Fantasy games, and speculation has been mounting about whether or not Square might attempt to cash in on that popularity by issuing a remake. Considering that this is a company that's announced at least three other games, as well as an all-CGI movie, based on the characters and storyline of FFVII, we can't rule anything out at the moment. Square didn't state anything for certain at the press conference, but we will of course have more details as they come along.
If they do remake the game square will be swimming in cash. Not to mention people who owned the original would love to see it remade with awesome graphics. I,for one, would DEFINETLY get this if they remade it. But i doubt Square Enix has the time with all the other games in development. Final Fantsy versus 13 ,Agito and anything else they have up their sleeve. From the trailer i can tell FFXIII Versus is VERY time consuming. So a High quality remake of FFVII is out of the cards....FOR NOW.
I would love to see this, but maybe its like waiting for something you really want to see, but would be better off left alone. I was excited to see Indiana jones 4, look what happened with that...........
I would love to see a FF7 remake. But if they make one, it'll take forever, according to them. Also, if they make one, it better be just like FF7. Except for you know, graphics and some voice acting. But the story, dialogue, and battle system should be the same, otherwise the game will hugely disappoint me. It's fine if they want to add a little extra content like more materia or something, but major things like that should stay the same, as well as the music. I mean, why would you change those things? Those are what made FF7 a great game anyway.
It should also be the same and shouldn't be altered except for the graphics and voice acting, of course. If they did alter it, they should only put in more content, but nothing that alters the story in anyway and the battle system should remain the same but I'm willing to bend on that. They should also make it playable on both 360 and PS3 so everyone can get it, but I'm willing to bend on that too.
if you think aobut it they most likely will remake the game because look at how many other ff games they remade so far the only question is when will it actually happen?
seriously square enix would be a billion dollar corperation if not already if they remad the whole game it would be the greatest thing to every made. it would be beater then the plasma drill
Why don't they make a remake? they would make tons of money... i dont like to spend $50-$60 on one game but i will make an exception for this game the Xbox360 would also do wonders on the display bring it to 1080p and this game would be god of all games lol
Ahh this is a heartbreaking read. And some of the advent children voices were good...but Jesus did rufus and the new villians sound like crap or what?! Most of the main cast was great though.
i agree w/ kima bye bye 360 hello ps3 i mean sure 360 gets FFXIII but pse is getting FFXII versus which looks much cooler and from a photo i saw FFVII in like AC graphics thnk god ps3 only 299$ rite now
I was extremely dissapointed to see that in the Playstation Network, Final Fantasy 7 is available for download as just a port for the ps3 or psp, it looks just like the original with no new animations or fixes. TT
I'm not sure I'd agree with voice acting...it could completely destroy what you'd imagined the characters to be like, like when you see a film of a book and it ruins the book for you.
It would probably be the greatest remake of all time they need to do this if not for the money for the fans because this has been a rumor since the PS2 release of Final Fantasy X it would probably be like the love everyone searches for if you know what I mean they need this. and so do we fans.
it'll be pretty risky if they alter the story of final fantasy 7 in its remake. i would agree with everything mattkvx said about the game so yeah
if it isn't for a remake of final fantasy 7, why did they make this demo. its not like they have nothing else 2 do.
i hope they remake it but only if they do it right, exact same characters, battle system, bosses, story, everything the same. The only differences should be the graphics, full voice acting, and some additional side quest and materia.
I doubt the storyline would be altered in any, if they did i would be very upset :'( but like with some of the older Final Fantasy titles when they were remade, script that was previously not originally included due to not big enough disc size, perhaps some script not originally added to FF7 may be added? :3
its gotta be the same story or it will most likely piss every ff7 fanboy/girl ever, including me! ;)
Fantasy33 well she says herself that its not the full fledged remake that people are rumoring. if anything it seems like it would be a remake but maybe with better quality to brighten up the view like they do with old movies
IF THEY DO THIS GAME WHIT A HOT GRAPHICS LIKE THE VIDEOS OF CRISIS CORE OR EVEN BETTER LIKE THE MOVIE ADVENT CHILDREN AND WHIT BLUE-RAY AND PS3 FULL GRAPHICS IM 100% SURE THIS GAME GONNA BE AGAIN THE GAME OF CENTURY.. IS FF7 ALREADY OLD BUT STILL THE BEST OF THE BEST WELL I CAN SAY IS THE NUM 1 OF FINAL FANTASY GAMES...
The remake isa confirmed a girl that calls herself sufergirl confirmed it. Jost go to this link: http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-100734.aspx
yea this game could be great! or it could just piss of every ff7 fan in the world lol. if they remake it they could just copy the old game with better graphics which everyone would cry about, or they could make a new story line like the movie, which they may end up ruining the remake. the final fantasy games just arent made to have remakes or sequals... either way i want it lol
they'd be stupid not to re make it. Everyone who ever played the original, would fight to play this. Square would be losing money if they didn't take advantage of this, unless they are trying to help sony sell more expensive ps3's by bringing the game out after a new model comes out
I do hope that Square Enix makes a FFVII remake because, in my opinion, it is the best out of all the Final Fantasy games. it would be a wise business decision to cash in on the popularity of the game since it could potentially mean new fans and it would definitely have the attention of existing fans of that particular game
This will be awsome, the greatest rpg out and better than ever, i just hope they dont try to change anything and screw it up. I hope they'll keep the same music too cus that was pretty sick too. Though they could add in some of the stuff which they didn't finish adding in last time such as aerith revival and sommin to do with some letters...
This game should come out with a collectors edition of the oringinal and should be EXACTLY THE SAME but better grafics me and many many many other has discussed this for a very long time and would anger many die hard ff7 fans if curruption would ocur to the legendary FF7 witch opened a whole new wold of gameing to millions of gamers i am also one who almost gave up gameing until one day i was hangin out with my friend who had it...that was in 98 i have played FF7 EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE SCINE THAT VERY INFLUENCAL DAY i have gone though 13 copies of this game and will remain to love this game as if it was my bible
