- "Masterpiece"
i dont know any rpg gamer that dont think so. maybe he will say this is one of the best rpg's around but wont say this is just a good game, ff7 was an amazing event in video games that is rare to see nowdays.
from the greatest story ever told in rpg and fantasy history in every media
to his amazing gfx (even by today as art) heart beating soundtrack and the best rpg control and manage system.
ff7 excel at all in 100 A+++
i am sane. this is just a masterpiece that was worked on for many years, the first ff to be in 3d and one of the first rpg's in 3d.
u play as cloud - a former soldier in a gigantic city in an unknown planet with a magic roots in history now under control by a vicious government named shinra.
he got hired by "avalanche" - a group of rebels that act against this shinra. they dont agree with thier plans of sucking the life force of the planet in order to use as consuming energy for electricity and etc..
the story gets really complex tru the 100 hours at least not include the side missions. this is a game for adults.not kids.
materia is a ball contains life force of the ancient that roomed around many years ago
u can equip them on anyone of ur party - thats how u can change a figher to a healer and so and so..
but every character have special ability's too and also linked to a fighter designation
u can play turn by turn at ur time or timed by the game fighting system.
the rpg menus are the best existed even today
ur choices will bring u a different outcome of characters fates, secret characters, weapons and enemies are all around.
this is a game ull never forget cause of his strong story elements, deep characters and a wining fighting formula.
a must try for every gamer.even ones that dont play rpg
this game changed my life
i hope it will change urs.

As a port it's subpar to the playstation version, with mods though it's nearly perfect.
