Why release figurines specifically named ''FFX HD''?

HD is a common thing in model kits and figurines, google those gundam hd model kits. It probably has nothing to do with FFX HD...but one could only hope.

They are releasing those as compensation for the upcoming rage when they will announce FFX HD is cancelled.

I saw three pictures of figurines and then a bunch of old Japanese screenshots. I of course hope this means something, but then again I also know that figurines are quite common in Japan they just aren't that popular here.

I never understood why comic guys didn't get those more mainstream here. I mean comics, anime, and video games, I think, are all part of the same genre so you would figure that things like this would get released in comic stores. Video game stores won't carry them because tey would rather play CBS programming commercials I get that, but man I remember in the late 80's action figures were very popular. I wonder what happened.
