1: loved the original NES version just nvr beat the original. PSP version is awesome, with decent replay value.
2: one of my favorites. Loved the stat up system, but got too easy towards the end. Plot was good.
3ne of my worst in the series. Great job system though.
4: first one I ever beat and I love it . PSP version is the best.
5a: beat main game and its the best job system in the series imo. Extras I'm currently doing. So far its great.
6a: played a lot but never beat it yet, its my next project. Too many characters but everything else about it has been great.
    7:great game, overhyped. Liked it.
8: love the card game, not that far into the story yet but its fun.
9: never beat it yet. Liked it.
10: best main game. Mini games were fun and challenging.
11: played a little, liked it but not worth it.
12: loved it. But espers sucked.
13: awesome story & music! Poor battle system imo.
10-2: best ATB system ever. Uplifting most of the game. Pain in the behind if 100% in first playthrough.
7 CC: loved it though expected.
7 DoC: loved the story, but gameplay was bland.
FF Ta: enjoyed it, and I love beating the crud out of them lol
FF CC: liked it but never had more than 2 players at a time.
13-2: bought it in July and I haven't opened it, I need to do that lol.
12 RW: not beaten, I restart too much...
Dissidia: gameplay is great, story sucks.
    I think that's it...

yup, another perfect day to play games

1: first played on NES, i liked it then but now it seems boring and doesnt really have a story line.

2PS version) had about an average story for me but i really liked the leveling up system where you pretty much got better from doing certain things.

3: (DS) liked it but hated it at the same time.

4: all platforms it is one of my favorites, best story to date IMO.

5:SNES: loved it but unlike most of the others i only had the patience to play thru it once.I loved the Job system.

6: It's alot of ppls favorite personally i think it's okay didnt hate but didnt really love it.

7: Probably beat this game the most. was the 4th Final fantasy game ive played. i loved it, but honestly not my favorite.

8:didnt love it or hated it. The main thing i didnt like was you didnt need to grind (I LOVE GRINDING FOR HOURS!!!!)

9:MY FAVORITE FF GAME theres not one thing i didnt like bout this game(except zidane's tail lol) the leveling system and learning abilities was amazing to me, the story really got to me, i think the reason i was my favorite is because i was going thru a hard time when this game came out and it gave me a place to go.

10: I LOVED IT, its my second favorite FF beat it several times(bout to cave and just play it on ps2 again). i liked everything except wakka.

10-2 didnt really hate but i really didnt like it all that much only beat it once.

11: at times i loved it and other times i hated it.

12: i actually really liked 12 alot but only beat it twice(imma Vaan hater!)

13: too easy didnt like it very much but i beat it

13-2: better than 13 but still wasnt very good but i did like the time traveling alot!.

14: i didnt like it at release but i loved it til the end ( cant wait for ARR)

Final fantasy Mystic Quest: this is a really good under rated game IMO. Not alot of ppl have heard of this game. Its only about 20- hours long to complete.

Legend series: they were the hardest FF games IMO atleast in the beginning

Adventure series: didnt really play them all but i liked the first one.

Tactics: (PS) i love tactics games and this one was perfect even getting Beowolf and Cloud was awesome even tho they were level 1

Tactics Advance: another great Tactics game beat it several times absolutely loved it.

Tactics DS didnt really get into this one that much.

Final Fantasy IV the after years: its actually pretty long if you got all the chapters or got it on psp it was very interesting (loved challenge dungeons).

Crystal Chronicles (Gamecube) pretty much hated it didnt even beat it

CC Echoes of Time: more of an action RPG than JRPG but still liked it.

CC My life as a king(WII) was very different but liked it not very hardcore game way more casual.

CC My life as a Dark Lord (wii) was okay you just place monsters in a tower.....thats it

Crystal Bearers: hated it didnt even really give it a chance.

Dirge of Cerberus FFVII: 3rd person shooter like it.

Crisis Core FFVII: actually really liked this game playing it again right now.

Dissidia: it was okay i guess played it for about 10 hours.

i think thats all of the FF that ive played but for the most part seems like after 10 the games really went down hill ( MIssing Square Soft like always.)

FF3-What an awful game. Ugh. Why is the story so bad? Why do I have to purposefully shrink my characters? Why can my dragoon dual-wield spears (although that is slightly awesome...)? My DS froze right before confronting the final boss, but I didn't care enough about the story to wonder what the ending had in store. Traded it away ASAP.

FF4-The classic of classics, and Square agrees with me, considering how they've chosen FFIV as their champion of the franchise. The most iconic characters of the series--you'll always think Cecil when you hear "Dark Knight" or "Paladin"; and Kain when you hear "Dragoon"; and Rydia when you hear "summoner". The first narrative-driven Final Fantasy, and it did it awesome.

FF5-Terrible story, dialogue, and characters (aside from Faris), but what a genius job system. More RPGs need to outright steal the open job system, because one franchise entry and FFT isn't enough to do it justice.

FF6-The pinnacle of the SNES generation across all RPG series. An exceptional cast of characters, great narrative, and the best musical effort Nobuo Uematsu has ever put forth. Origin of the iconic samurai, Cyan/Cayenne. The world ends, literally.

FF7-Overall decent narrative, no real complaints in the story department. Decent characters. Limit breaks, which have never been as good as they are here. Materia system is good, though it doesn't beat FFV. Love the 3D world map. Weapons.

FF8-Well, at least disc one was good. Extremely intriguing story elements that were never elaborated on (sunken facility, Centra, etc.) Love the 3D world map (again), creative and beautiful world map music. Brilliant opening video and great accompanying score. Meltdown spell. Rinoa's Angel Wing command.

FF9-I didn't like it the first time, and didn't like it much more the second time. Slowest battle system on the face of the planet. Terrible story, lame characters. Music on the verge of creative bankruptcy. Zidane is a monkey. However, amazing monster/enemy graphics, and perhaps the series' most beautiful rendering of Leviathan.

FF10-Bland characters, bad story. Auron and Kimahri rock, as does the music by Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano. Too bad Nobuo Uematsu is mostly checked out at this point and is at his most uninspired. Brilliant character-swapping during battle. Summons participate in battle. Worst, worst, worst final weapon quests in the history of gaming, I will never do anything like the Tidus chocobo sidequest ever again, no matter how good the payoff is. Not worth my sanity.

FF11-Wasted opportunity. Some jobs are brilliantly designed and executed (Samurai, Dancer) while others destroy the game balance and ruin every other job by being a forced sub (Ninja). It takes forever to do anything, although I hear that's changed since I quit. Decent story, but you'll forget what's happened by the time you get to the next cutscene.

FF12-The greatest of the FF games. Brilliant battle system. I want this battle system back. Please. While you're at it, give me back these beautiful, gigantic environments too. And Basch. Well-directed cutscenes, great dialogue, awesome characters. Ashe, Balthier, and Basch own the universe. Even when the party gets wiped, you can bring in your backups without fear of a game over. Also, Basch. International Zodiac Job System adds, er, a job system and a handy speed-up function. Did I mention Basch?

FF13-What utter garbage. Ugh. I don't even like saying the name. Bad story, bad characters (Fang is slightly cool until her inexplicable and hackneyed "Prove your worth to me" betrayal), bad dialogue. Party-leader death is bad game design, period. AI is awful for all roles except Ravager which can't possibly be screwed up). I doubt I need to mention the structure of the first 11 chapters. But the game is undeniably beautiful, and what exceptional music it has.

    FF14-Let's hope for the best.

    1) Innovative gameplay for an RPG, able to play through multiple times, no real story.
    2) Lackluster story and characters, difficult battle system and pacing.
    3) Difficult game overall, some story, but not much.
    4) Improved battle system, large party system.
    5) More like 3 than 4, but with more definite characters. A decent game overall, but not much innovation.
    6) Better story than past games, too many characters to keep track of.
    7) Many unique characters and a more mature and deeper story than we'd seen previously. The whole game was stylized and exploration was fun. Great battle system. Awesome story.
    8) Ugh. Story starts good, then becomes crap. The message the game puts out is that it's not your job to ask questions, as a means of hiding the fact that the writers new it did not make any sense. Full of plot holes and cliches. Lame battle system, junctioning was good at first, but went to Hell by the end.
    9) Solid game with a deep and innovative twist on the classic-style Final Fantasy game. Obviously a game for the fans, mainly. Very complicated battle/elemental/status system and solid difficulty. Characters were weird but the game itself was great.
    10) Probably the best in the series. Awesome story, twist after twist after twist, and great characters. Good minigames and battle system.
10-2) Too short, liked the New Game + option, decent character customization, story was too simple.
    12) Story itself is good, but very poorly executed. Innovative but unrealistic battle system, crappy characters. Worth 2+ playthroughs, though, if only for the massive environments and all the sidequests.
    13) Great battle system, everything else, KILL ME NOW. Customization and navigation sucked, game gets boring real fast, etc. Characters were ripped off of other games. Hope and Snow's relationship (and costumes) are an evident rip off of Ken and Shinjiro's from Persona 3. Eye candy, and that's it.
13-2) Eye candy with the occasional glitch or error section. Better battle system, great monster system, more customization options, and overall easier to get into. More freedom too.
7CC) Great prequel, continues story and maintains reputation. Great gameplay and battle system, if not too nontraditional for a Final Fantasy game.
    12-RW) No comment.
Tactics Advance) Great tactical strategy game, easy to get into, decent graphics and story.
Tactics Advance 2) A letdown compared to the first. Everything is more tedious and yields less in results.
    4TAY) Did not play yet
    Tactics) Did not play yet

I have yet to play 11, 14, Adventure Dissidia, or Crystal Chronicles as well.

here i go finally my Opinion

FF1: beside a lackluster plot it save Square from dying if it wasn't for this FFX wouldn't exist

FF2:crap battle system, crap characters, bad ass villain and crap save pts.

    FF3:Boring Plot,Characters, & Villain Battle System -Okay (NES) & Crap(DS)

FF4:1st to a love story, hit & miss 4 me

FF5: Its Okay Characters, Battle System & all

FF6: Good But Too Many characters

FF7: OK but Overrated or Overused (Courtesy of my FF7-Obssesed Bro as well)

FF8: Hit or Miss for Me, Plot was....lacking somewhat

FF9: a throwback to the old days, it was alright but character design was weird

FFX: Too Many Positive & praising to wasted on so imma say This FF owns all FFs (except is on par with FFX-2, Dissidia & 012)

    FFX-2: same as FFX

FFXI: hate MMOs with a passion

FFXII: Played half way through the game got bored & gave it back to my bro (who also felt the same way as me)

FFXIII: same as 8 except i hate Snow & wish he died a slow & painful death the system was average

    Dissidia & 012: love it

as for the others haven't played them yet nor will i have for it not that i hate them though

Why does everyone say 6 had too many characters. What I thought was nice about 6 was even though there were a lot of characters I found myself interested in all of their stories. I wanted to know Locke's backstory just as much as I did with Cyan. I didn't find any of the characters annoying as I did in 4. (well maybe except for Nads)

Yeah. Without as many characters as it had, it wouldn't have been so unique. Like with the 3 party system. Kefka's tower is my favorite final dungeon because of the three party system. It makes it seem longer.

FF1 - I liked it. Not my favorite but it's fun.
FF3 - My favorite NES game EVAR
FF4 - Great cast of characters and the story was awesome! Awesome music btw.
FF5 - My second favorite Final Fantasy game. I actually like the story and I love the job system. The music is great too.
FF6 - My favorite in the series. Great cast of characters, some of the best music by Nobuo Uematsu, and the graphics at the time were mind blowing (actually til this day, I think they are still great)
FF7- Great game as well. I liked the story and the music. I didn't really like the characters except for Tifa, Barret and Red XIII.
FF9 - I remember loving this game... but I don't remember why... I really gotta replay this one.
FF10 - It was alright, but it doesn't stop me from wanting to play a HD version of it =P

I also enjoyed the sheer number of characters, but at the same time, it makes it hard for them to all have a proper backstory.

    For my opinion...

FF1 - One of my favorites. I've played through it about 3 or 4 times fully. It's just simple and addictive. Also pretty short and easy to run through.

FF2 - I hated the leveling system. I tried to give it a chance, but I stopped playing at about 10 hours. I want to finish it someday.

FF3 - It was average. No major complaints, it was just average in most ways. I preferred the job system in 5.

FF4 - One of my top tiers. It has an entertaining story, it's fun, and that's about it.

FF5 - I really liked this game. The job system is my favorite in the series, and I also enjoyed the story. I liked the multiple world idea, and the way they fused together.

FF6 - Mid-tier for me. I enjoyed it's story, and I liked most of the character. I also really like Kefka. Overall, I prefer 4 though.

FF7 - Hard to place this one. I think I preferred it to 6, but enjoyed 4 more. I think my list would be something like 4> 7 > 6. I liked Sephiroth, though I find him pretty overrated, and I would like other villains to have a chance to shine, even from 7 itself.

Crisis Core - Enjoyable enough. I preferred 7. I think this would be somewhere in the bottom half of my tier.

FF8 - I wasn't all that crazy for this one. The music was awesome, though. I just think 7 and 9 did most things better than this game. Also, Ultimecia just...sucked. I'm sorry if I insulted the people who like her, but, she barely exists. And I still don't really understand Time Compression.

FF9 - One of my favorites. Definitely in my top 3. I loved the story, and I loved the characters. Kuja is definitely in my top 3 villains, Vivi is in my top 5 characters total, and Garnet is my favorite FF female.

FFX - Also in my top 3. The first FF I played, and I'm sure I'm blinded by nostalgia. Still, I loved everything about this game.

FFX-2 - While not as good as X, this was still an extremely fun game. Story was...eh. Shuyin was cool. The battles system is possibly the best in the series, imo.

    Never played XI.

FFXII - Really wasn't crazy for this. Definitely in my bottom 3. I just wasn't a fan of the game's open world style. I don't dislike open games, I just don't think FF is the place for it, and I don't think it did it all that well. I had also forgotten most of the story by the time I beat it.

FFXIII - Mid-tier for me. I thought the game was very enjoyable for what it is, and I didn't mind the common complaints (linear) at all. I felt it was a design choice, not a flaw. Still, I wasn't particularly impressed by anything.

FFXIII-2 - Probably my second least favorite in the series, only beaten out by 2. It had some good ideas, but the presentation of the story just killed any of those ideas. Serah was a bland idiot, and Noel was only a bit better. The game was also way too easy. I mean, WAY too easy. It also just killed the trilogy's story. 13 was open to a lot of ideas. 13-2 said screw that, and put in it's own stupid plot. I did like Caius, though, but I think he could have used a bit more development. Yuel was a plot device.

    Never played 14.

    Never finished Dissidia.

Never finished Theatrhythm, though I doubt it's going to change much. I liked it. I like rhythm games. I like FF music. All I need to say, really.

FFI&II - Tried playing both on PSP and got bored super fast.

FFT:WOTL - Also tried playing on the PSP and couldn't get into it. Too slow and I just preferred Disgaea. To be fair I don't even like the PSP as a gaming platform anyway.

FF7 - Got this off of the PSN, got up to the boat and gave up.

    FFX - My favourite.

    FFX-2 - Best job system.

FFXII - Found the story boring but I liked everything else. Filling up the bestiary was strangely addictive.

FFXIII - Has my favourite characters in the series. I enjoyed the battle system the most.

FFXIII-2 Too short, not a big fan of the story, never liked Serah... Collecting monsters was fun though.

FFI, II, III, IV: Been way too long since I played them, definetly remember it being a struggle to get through, not very good.

FFV: I never liked this game, but I recently watched a LP of it, and I think I might have to give it another chance.

FFVI: This game is good, I don't think it's as stellar as some say, but it's probably in the top 5 FF's for me.

FFVII: Definitely the FF I've played the most, done the most and gotten a lot of enjoyment out of. Done a 100% run of this game.

FFVIII: Not a bad game, didn't really care much about the story, my feelings for Rinoa is very much like my feelings for Aeris.. Unfortunatly the only time you can kill Rinoa permanenty causes a Game Over. Also, the Junction system is prooobably the system that is easiest to break a game with. I have done a 100% completion of this game.

FFIX: Really liked this game, it's a bit slow, and I don't mean the combat. The whole story seems to take forever to progress, but it's a good story, lots of nice sidequests and little secrets. Also some of the most awesome music.

FFX: Probably my favourite, although I'm still a bit miffed that there's no actual world map, the way it worked with the Airship and stuff was pretty good, I've pretty much done EVERYTHING there is to do in this game.

FFX-2: Played it through, it's.. Meh.

FFXII: Nice story again, but then it is the Star Wars story... Not too big a fan of the combat system in this game.. This was the last FF I've played, I have told myself, despite all the bad cred it has gotten, that I need to pick up FFXIII one of these days.

Post opinions about the games you completed in the FF series, or have played a good deal of the game lets
FF1 - Great game for its time. So glad I got this when I had an NES. I still remember the sahaguin battle music.

FF4 - Excellent first US FF on the SNES. Traveling to the moon was pretty damn awesome btw.

FF6 - Basically FF4 but better in every possible way. Pinnacle of SNES RPGs. This game had stronger graphics/music/content/characters/plot than most RPGs on the PSX packed into an SNES cartridge. Square exceeded their limits with this game on this console.

FF5 - Went back and played this. Very solid game. Job system is very good, and led to FFT, FF11, FF14's systems and served as context for other ones as well (like FFX and X-2 etc). Plot kind of thinner than FF4, although the worlds was a good idea.

FF7 - Pretty good, although overrated. It was overrated because it was the first 3D FF. It's good, but not the best. Just because you could see Tifa's boobs in 3D doesn't make the game great.

FF8 - Kind of average on core RPG stuff (characters, story). Horribad junction system. Great Shiva (did I mention 3D boobs above?).

FF9 - Could not stand playing it due to character designs. Main character with a tail = no. Kid main character = no. They basically Disney-fied the game. Sidenote: I can't stand playing KH as well. Animalia does not work for me.

FFX - Excellent game overall, suffers slightly from "story rails" that are a little too tight for the first half of the game. Note: probably a holdover from PSX-era map/movement design (static backgrounds with limited pseudo-3D pathing).

FF12 - Some very good game components. Good plot, Ivalice-ization a plus. Suffers from some core failures centering on poor character development (intentional, but bad decision / poorly-implemented). Also, license board is "too free". Gambit system pretty decent, although main character control is slightly awkward due to animation cancelling and such.

FFT - Great game? Nothing more to say.

I think FF6 and FFX were the best products in the FF line. I don't consider FFT one of the "main" FF games since it's an SRPG. FF7 was great as well, but gets overrated (much like every good adaptation to 3D graphics). Not FF7's fault.

I'll only do the ones I've finished

FF - Story confused me(although that's nothing new) but was pretty solid gameplay wise I thought, played the PSP version the lack of indications whether the weapon or armour is stronger or if you can even equip it, etc in the NES(Virtual console) version annoys me.

FFIV - Cecil = badarse, then ruins it by becoming a Paladin and sucks for rest of the game

FFV - I remember liking the battle system

FFVI - I honestly didn't see what all the fuss was about, great game though

FFVII - My first FF, hell, my first RPG

FFVIII - Love the junction system

FFIX - *get into battle* *make a brew* *Turn is about to start*

FFX - Control able Summons GENIUS!

FFX-2 - change jobs in battle GENIUS!

FFXII - Random chest, need a guide to know how to get a semi-easy Zodiac spear, just sit back and watch the battles unfold, get lost trying to find the next plot point only to find you passed it an hour ago, the great crystal

FFXIII - Can't overpower early game, debuffs and buffs are actually useful

FFXIII-2 - Mog, Serah, XIIIs battle system without the "leader is dead game over" crap

Haha, so true. I remember my first time playing it, I was like "cool, transformation!" And then I was "ehh ...".

True...I never liked the leader is dead game over crap. I think people in here though don't get FF6. Probably because most of you are under 18 and are basing your arguments on graphics alone. I mean FFX is too linear shows your age because I can guarantee you when that game came out no one cared about the "open world" garbage argument because it wasn't relevant. Back to FF6. Keep in mind that it was the first major final fantasy title to be released in the US. 4 and 5 came out in the US later I believe, so that means American gamers had only seen 1 and 2. It also, compared to the first two, had a much better developed story. Even though there were a lot of characters in the game you got to know them each pretty well. Also think about the bad guy Kefka. Most games that came out during the same time had the same type of bad guys. Either cartoony bad guy like Bowzer, Dr. Robotnik, or the I want rule the world bad guys. Kefka was basically Heath Ledger's Joker. He didn't care about any of that. He just wanted to see the world destroyed (and he did). The most annoying argument though is the "blood" argument. "There is no blood so the game is boring." The blood argument is usually made by that fat annoying 14 year old who drinks too much red bull and says stuff like "I won't play any games that aren't mature rated." Because by saying that he thinks it makes him look like a bad ass.First off other than a very short scene at the end of FF Crisis Core, can anyone out there name any FF games that have had blood in them?

But anyway my point is everyone is entitled to their own opinions but don't base them on ignorance.

Keep in mind that it was the first major final fantasy title to be released in the US. 4 and 5 came out in the US later I believe,

No, 4 was released as 2, the real 2 (and 3 and 5) never made it out of Japan until the PS and DS remakes

Keep in mind that it was the first major final fantasy title to be released in the US. 4 and 5 came out in the US later I believe,

No, 4 was released as 2, the real 2 (and 3 and 5) never made it out of Japan until the PS and DS remakes

I don't remember seeing 4/2 it must not have had good sales. Because I remember 3 quite well.

FF6 had pretty good hype coming out on the SNES because of FF4.

And they wouldn't have brought 6 over if the sales for 4 were that poor.

But yes, in that era of gaming, FF6 did a hell of a lot of new and amazing things -- a bad guy that actually wins, and more or less destroys the world. A bad guy who's a sadist. Incredible graphics for the time, at or near the pinnacle of the sprite-era. A large cast of characters with relatively good development. Multi-party combat sequences. A large variety of character mechanics. Shrug.
