I think rin400 is right. The only place to find the Adamancheild is either on mission 33 or if you go to eden but right near the beginning where theres is two of them. There is also a Adamantoise there which is not so far away.
Remember guys, Adamancheild and Adamantoise are different monsters. (So, why did rin400 get a thumbs down? lol) There is one Adamantoise in grand pulse (after the gui's have spawned) in the middle of the archytle steppe, near the save point there.

yes.. and onli one... Its around the center of the map walking around. The best way would be going to Cocoon and fight the one beside the save point. You can jus kill it and save and load. Rinse and repeat.

I am disappointed to say no. the only place you'd be able to fight Adamanchield (babies) after spawning the Long Gui is on Eden. On the shattered highway where the soldiers are fighting the Humbabas, its just before the siren park area as you were heading toward Edenhall. There are 2 there (they are not the Adamantoise/Adamantortoise). If you want to farm the adults for materials then your best bet is to do the mission 63 loop. All you have to do is teleport to the underground lake take mission 63 then teleport back to the Northern central expanse. Head south and you'll see the only Adamantoise that didn't turn Long Gui on us kill it and head east to the area blocked by the Long Gui (spawning ground) the babies will be replaced by an Adanmantortiose and kill it. The loop is worth 80,000 CP without the growth egg and if your lucky youll get a platinum ingot(5% chance) or trapezodron(1% chance) depending on which catolog you have equipped youll have better odds. Don't try to stack the catalogs it doesn't work, just equip one for the rarity you want more of.

Only one is left on pulse near the middle of the steppte ( mispelled ) and also u can keep repeating mission 63 which is an adamantortise same as adamantoise.

You can repeat Mission 33 with its Mark being an Adamanchelid as many times as you want.

The easy way u want to hunt and farm now,go to Eden, remember the adamants breake the glass and drop down ? ? Make u way to there, save there, kill the adamants, then save, then press select button go out to tittle screen, then load game, the adamants will respawn again. .Do it step by step and repeat. .Ahh don forget, wear the x2 CP ya =D Good Luck~
