Really looking foward to this FF. FFXII was good but not that good I hope this game brings the FF series to the TOP.
as long as it have simple menus, i am in.i still remember FFVIII many and complex menus which made me hate the series. hopefully this will change with FFXIII
Not to rage on another system war, but you know Developers usually use the 360 to build their game on, not because it was the first system out of the new gens but because if Devs build on the PS3 first, it will turn out worse when they port it to the 360. PS3's cell-processor is also hard for the Devs to "mess" with to get it's full potential. But that doesn't matter, just that 360 needs to catch up. Also, a very complicated storyline already, so i can't wait to get into this game!!! Btw, you guys do know that Microsoft stole Halo from Apple, Halo was originally made for Macs.
It really is too bad Final Fantasy is more of a science fiction game now. I miss the classic RPG type games.

Blu-Ray is a waste of money. That's what all PS3 owners rely on in a debate between consoles. 360 is better all-around system. The support and features it has sets it far above PS3.

acerpg007 Not sure that this gamplay will be more like crisis core because if you look at e3 microsoft conference when they showed the game play and it kinda looked like FF-X2 gameplay in a way, but aalso saw some trailer where they say you can move them around too ... so there must be like a battle system where you can chose that fits how you play
the only people whining about FFXIII coming to the 360 are the Sony fanboys, and it's pretty obvious they are the minority audience of gamers out there so it doesn't really matter

Maybe I'm just a jaded gamer, but JRPG's are so cliche these days. What was that whole scene anyway? Fighting a giant robot with a sword? Kind of dumb.
FF13 and FF Versus 13 are 2 different games, FF13 is kinda like Lost Odyssey with the FF7: Crisis Core battle style and FF Versus 13 is an action-RPG like the Kingdom Hearts series.. and from what i've seen from the vids, both games are awesome!

"what is the difference between Versus and this one ?" They are two completely separate games with separate stories etc. Versus is more of an action RPG.
You know I actually tired of being teased by trailers....show me a release date already. Is it just me or does the gameplay get more and more traditional as the newer cut scenes come out? The first couple movies showed Snow looking like pseudo gameplay/cut scene and her jumping through enemies and it looked like something they have never done before. These new gameplay elements look like its back to the old turn-based system with im sure just slight tweaks to the ATB system that gives bonuses for choosing your action quicker... I am still going to buy it as im sure most FF fans will, but why the scale back to the same old same old? I was really hoping after the innovation showed in FF 12 that they would have taken 13 past the conventional japanese rpg formula
Looks awesome. Reminds me of FFX a bit. While I will buy this game day-1, it super makes me wish Square had been working on a FF7 era RPG.

Looks like Cocoon shares some similarities with Midgar, in that it's a society isolated from the rest of the world. The FF7 formula seems to be coming back. The fighting is difficult to figure out though. It looks almost like a Xenogears/ Chrono Cross thing where you choose combinations of attacks. I liked those battle systems though, so it's cool. As for random battles, I hated FF12's system. They ran off the same engine as 11, their MMO, and it came out not feeling like Final Fantasy at all. Not having a turn-based system in FF is like not being able to jump on your enemies' heads in Mario.

Actually there's nothing to be worried about the fighting system. According to news from Japanese magazines this game is turn based: You choose a combo of moves and the characters act as what you commanded. ^^
Screwing....not turned based! Thats what made final fantasy! Got a feeling this might suck just like 12 did! bring back 7,8 and 9 style of play!
The characters look less european and more japanese ...Thats a change in style. Anyway I will buy this for sure
