My boredom has outshined the sun - Jan 27, 2013 8:51 am GMTyeah it's pathetic there are people complaining about mmorpg subscription fees, but don't complain about buying beer, cigarettes, drugs, junk food, and other needless things on a weekly basis.
Those type of gamers are probably the very same people that sneak out of a restaurant before they are presented the bill. XD
THere's so many self centered inconsiderate gamers that only care about themselves and their money, they don't care how much it costs to maintain, update and expand a quality mmorpg in ways that free to play mmorpgs can only dream of. the monthly fee isn't even .000001% if the cost to develop, run and expand an mmorpg of this level.
FTP is the death of the heights that mmorpgs could reach. Even non mmorpgs suffer from free to play model (Metal Gear Online would still be around if it had a subscription fee, fans would gladly pay to play and keep the servers on.)
and FFXI Online wouldn't have been expanded as much as it has since 10 years ago if it weren't for subscription fees.
Despite it's fee, FFXI Online is officially the most played and successful FF to date.

My boredom has outshined the sun - Jan 27, 2013 12:27 pm GMTI haven't really seen people complain about the monthly fee for this game. On the contrary, I see people ecstatic that there's a fee under the supposition that it'll keep out the unwashed masses, which is probably untrue.

Careful, dcuo might prove to be the better. Their raids are for sure the better thus far. And payment isn't an issue for most people. I personally don't like paying less then others for the same serves.... SE can blow me for their shady deals. - Jan 28, 2013 4:56 pm GMTwyvernhbaby posted...

less that others for the same service? would you like me to list how untrue that is using FFXI and DCUO as an examples... theres a reason why FFXI held my attention and left me on it 12 hours a day every day for a full 8 years wereas DCUO although i liked it could only keep me interested for 2 months.
so with FFXI i could clearly see what i was paying for whereas with DCUO Im glad that was free and i could see why it was... ppl who paid 10-15 bucks a month for that game back when it first launched were fools lol

and thats one of the many difference between a free to play game and a pay to play one.... constant and pretty fast support... name a bug or glitch in FFXI that existed for as year.. heck or even 6 months lol

Say what you want you don't see bot'ing, and claim hacking. Raids are FUN rather then me noddingg off in dynamis.... Oh the boredom I had to endure for relics >< I won't even get on how dumb the drop rates were for years, and the laughable "point systems" link shells had. More favoritism then anything. Not complaining though cuz I got mine - Jan 29, 2013 8:13 am GMTyou dont see botting in DCUO? play on PC lol. As for claim hacking thats because there s no claim system In DCUo (i.e everyone can attack the same target whether its in their group or not).. ever MMO that has a claim system and PC player has botting and claim hacking...
as for drop rates... well what do you expect.. "uber" items shouldn't be gotten over night, if you got everything you could in a month or 2 (dcuo) what reason do you have to continue playing?
as for point systems umm what would you prefer? everyone free lot on all drops? ok so lets say you been in an LS 2 years.. you go to every dynamis... finally the item youve been waiting for drops.. but some guy whos only been in your ls 24 hours and just started dynamis today gets it instead of you.. youd be completely fine with that despite teh fact that you busted your *** in the ls for 2 years to get that while someone who hasnt contributed at all gets it instead?
the real world is no different.. if you worked at a job for 5 years youd get looked at for promotions or offered special benefits or offered first before the guy whos been theres a year... he has to work his way up to where you are.. he doent just get all the benefits you got right out the gate even though YOu had to earn them the hard way.. how woudl that be fair to you?

Everyone thinks they are special and the exception to the rule...everyone...and they are all wrong -RonD70 - Jan 29, 2013 11:25 am GMTI'll gladly pay that cheap 15/month to support this game. At least I know it wont turn into the craphole like what happened to a PS3 game I used to play: White Knight Chronicles 1 and 2.
Dev supports = no trolls, cheaters, modifications that distort anyone's enjoyment in a game.
Only ones complaining about P2P are those who have are too lazy to work and rely off their parents to fund their gaming hobby or don't know how to budget. Stop mooching your Mcdonalds meal and it'll save you cash. lolol at self-entitled gamers these days. - Jan 29, 2013 12:38 pm GMTsuperboy1281 posted...

lol shush you i still play WKC2 and i platinumed part 1 :p
and yeah i dont see how if you can get mommy and daddy to give you 65 bucks every month for a new game shouldnt be hard for those self entitled ppl to get them to spend 15 bucks a month instead... heck theyre saving their parents 55 bucks every month.. id take 15 a month over 65 a month anyday lol

DCUO is not for everyone. Turn based games like FFXI tend to be easier to play for most people. That's probably why you played WKC so long too, eh?
And having seen your topics and posts on quite a few forums now, I think grasping the mechanics of a game like DCUO was a bit much for someone like you.
Hey, don't get butthurt. I'm just calling it as I see it. Plus, legendary =/= free to play so don't even compare them. - Jan 29, 2013 4:35 pm GMTtomo012 posted...

lol youre talking to the guy who can beat and platinum demon souls and dark souls.. can now beat every boss in those games without getting touched.. same for ninja gaiden sigma 1 and 2 (though 2 was pretty easy) can get S ranks galore in DMC3 (pre special edition) and can beat EVERY mainstream (i.e 1-6) RE game on default setting with us the knife...
in otherwords Ive played and mastered games MUCH more technical than DCUO... its just the fact that DCUO lack of content is what kept be from liking it...
doing the same 7 alerts, 10 solo quests and 6 duos EVERYDAY and same 3 raids once a week is boring and repetitive.. hows that supposed to keep someone playing for years? sure youll say WKC running big red in WKC1 a million times or grinding the same quest in WKC2 to rank up is no much better.. infact its worse... and yeah i stuck with wkc1 for 3 months... difference is.. trophies its what motivated me to endure that torture... DCUO was platinumed in less than a month.. the rest of the time was spent trying to like the game despite its EXTREME repetitiveness and lack of content.. however it just didnt happen.
soo it has nothing to do with gameplay... if FFXI consist of doing the same 10 quests, same 6 duos same 8 alerts once a day and same 4 raids once a week i wouldn't have even played that a full year let alone 8.. however IT had loads of content.. so much so that even in 8 years i hadnt done EVERYTHING the game had to offer.. could someoen whos played DCUO a year say that? nope.
so when DCUO start popping out fresh new content (adding more raids, duos and alerts its NEW content that just extending existing content() every 2-3 months like FFXI did.. I would still be playing that too.
