thanks GAME...
Today they sent me an email saying my order for Mario Kart Wii couldn't be dispatched because my credit card details are wrong. Turns out I'd forgot to change the expiry dates, but they tell me this now why? I went to go back and pre-order it, but they're not taking them anymore. Woo!
I had to go on Gamestation and get it this evening, but I'm not sure how good they are as I've never ordered from them. Obviously I won't be getting it tomorrow anymore, which I'm a tad peeved about. Oh well.
(this is all online by the way)
So, anyone else had some horror pre-order stories (doesn't have to be GAME), and does anyone know how good Gamestation are with pre-orders?

- Well for a start I only got to order online very recently so ordering online is like "Omfg where does that go and what? How much of this code do you want in that box now?" and its all frustrating for me still. Although I've ordered World In Conflict, Mass Effect Revelations - the book, and Command And Conquer: The First Decade off GAME previously though. Took me ages to figure how to do it.

Ouch! That really sucks.
If there's a game I'm really hyped up for I always pre-order it in the shop these days.
It's because of my lack of faith over the game arriving on day of release as in the past there's been some occasions where I've got the game up to a week late.
They probably didn't tell you untill now because it only just got processed. I have a few stories, like the fact that half my orders don't arrive when ordered from Play.com - oh and they NEVER deliver for release, at least for me anyway. When I ordered Halo 3 they never sent it out and yet they charged me, so I called and they said I hadn't even ordered it, after an annoying phone call it was all sorted, but I don't use Play.com for video-games anymore.
Oh don't say that, I've just ordered a game off Play! They've always been okay with pre-orders from what I remember, only time something never arrived from Play was around Xmas time when the postie nicked it! :(

game sent me an email months ago to let me know that by thetime i'd have to pay for my gta iv pre order my card would be expired. are you sure there's not a friendly email in your junk box that you overlooked?

GAME sent my Mario Kart out today. I chose 1 day express delivery so I should get it tomorrow. Should be great. I'll probably play it all day tomorrow.
Shopto.com gave me my worst pre-order experience. It was the Assassins Creed Limited Edition that came with the Altair figurine. I ordered it from shopto because it was £5 cheaper than GAME. A week before release shopto e-mail me and tell me they weren't getting any because it was a GAME exclusive. I tried to order from GAME but the had none left. I haven't used shopto since.

Play.com are rubbish for getting games (and anything else really) to me by release date and recently have become rubbish at getting things to me in three days and has took my girlfriend over a week to recieve three items from there.
Oh! just remembered! They're also rubbish at telling me when my pre-order isn't going to be fulfilled, they'll leave it up until a few days before to go "oh sorry, can't get it to you. Do you still want it from us?" when you're at the point of everyone else has already sold out. That's what worries me most about my rock band pre-order.
GAME have always been the best for me. I ordered the Orange Box from Gameplay and it arrived a week after release date.

I hate to say it, but you've paid that extra shipping for nothing. Even on free delivery they always get it to me the day before release.

Definitely sure. Nothing ever lands in my junk folder (I don't get junk).

Rock Band is priced £180 here in the UK. I'm not cheap but there's no way I'd pay £180 for a game. You could get a Wii for that price.

The only time I didn't choose 1 day express was when I pre-ordered Mass Effect. It didn't get to me in time for release date. It came the Tuesday after release. I don't mind paying the extra £5 for guaranteed delivery before release day. £5 isn't a lot of money and I don't pre-order too often.

- I remember pre-ordering New Super Mario Bros. like one day before it came out, purely because I forgot about it. Still came the next day, though. :P

"Um, has anyone seen a floating sarcastic skull around here?" | www.meewella.comMy worst pre-order experience was with HMV in-store at the release of Halo 3. When pre-ordering they demanded that I pay the full £40 (this was for the black tin edition) up front. I agreed since it seemed worthwhile to secure the game for launch day.
When I came back to the store on launch day they had plenty of copies knocking around but informed me that the price was now £50 and they tried to get another £10 out of me. Obviously I refused, and to make matters worse the manager outright lied to me, stating I wouldn't find it for under £50 anywhere. I subsequently picked it up from Virgin a day later after flirting with one of the staff to pick up a neglected pre-order copy (they were honouring their £40 offer).
Needless to say I won't be pre-ordering in-store with HMV again. I was tempted by their online offer for GTA IV and it looks like this will bizarrely give better service (plus online it's a lot harder to gouge customers on release day).

I'm not addicted to games, i'm simply making sure the games in my collection still work.

Check out my YouTube channel
I've had wrong items from play on more than one occasion. My Star Trek TNG season 3 order was wrong three times in a row, I also got a Rob Zombie DVD instead of a DS game. Play.com has been going down hill since they've gotten more successful.- Please wait. Quick reply will be available shortly.
