    Just thought id ask you guys to tell me if this rig is at all very good

    E6400 (2.13 i think)

    2gb 667mhz corsair ram (ddr2)

    Geforce 7600GT

    Oh and im not a very hardcore gamer so im not wanting to run anything at 2800x2000 or anything

    That's actually a nice setup. Only thing that I would say is that the 8600 mid-range DX10 cards are coming out in 3 weeks so it would be worth waiting until then. Assuming you get an 8600, also get Windows Vista.

    Yeah A nice little setup. If you want to play games a little but quicker, I would look to upgrade to a 8800GTS maybe around Summer/Winter time.

    I'd go with a E6600 or E6700, 2GB of ram is good if you're staying with xp, and the 7600GT is probly not to good in terms of future proofing.

    I'd go with a E6600 or E6700, 2GB of ram is good if you're staying with xp, and the 7600GT is probly not to good in terms of future proofing.

    ive heard you can buy an xp edition with upgrade to vista free on it? (you can ask for vista whenever you want)

    apparently they're in myer (australian store)

    get the 320 mb 8800 gts, good price point at ~$300 too, making it the "budget" dx10 card, if you're budget includes a swiss bank account to back it X) but in all seriousness that is really a good price, backed up by the fact that it runs as fast, sometimes faster than its 640 mb brother, though you will lose some fps as your resolution goes higher in comparison to the 640.
