Yeah, it does look very creepy (no pun intended).

A game that gave me nightmares as a puppy was Sword of Sodan (Amiga), one of the most violent games in existence.

Hmm, I think I saw that recently in several different AVGN-wannabe reviews on youtube. They weren't especially kind to it, but yes, from what I saw, it would have left quite an ill impression on my vulnerable young psyche.

What I mainly remember is that it was on a system other than the NES, and I was blown away by the graphics at the time, which may have been 16-bit (Sega Genesis then, most likely?). Anyway, it was a game where you played this human in a purple suit with an over-sized head whose primary attack was kicking things. I remember his death animation being very Mario-esque, in that he'd look toward the "camera" with his limbs spread out, rise a little bit and then fall of screen. At one point I kicked some fire and it was the same death-pose except his face went red from the heat. Also, at one point your character could walk and do up-side-down jumps on the ceiling.

Could it be one of the many versions of B.C. Kid? (aka Bonk's Adventure)

Okay so this was many MANY years ago but when i was young i played this game that had a prince of persia air to it but had the same game mechanics as Indigo Prophacy (you had to quickly press buttons that flashed on screens so you dont die). What i remeber most vividly was a boss battle where you got tossed into the ceiling and the monster would push up the ceiling tiles to squash you. I also remeber stepping on a trap and i had to react quickly to save myself with a rope before i feel into a pit. I know this is vague but does anyone have any idea what game it might be?

    ~Azure

PS: I think it was on Playstation and lets see i'm 21 y/o.... and i must have been like 13 or something so perhaps 8 years ago... But both those points are guesses

Nay, I'm afraid. The main character was a guy in a purple business suit who was far more adept at kicking than bonking, and the largeness of his head was more like that of a caricature than a straight cartoon character.

Thanks for your continued help, and feel free keep trying if you so wish, but to quote another, far less obscure game : "No one will blame you for giving up. In fact, quitting at this point would be a perfectly reasonable response."

Well there's that and 2 Xtreme as far as I know. I have a very faint memory of playing it at a kiosk at Sears and I enjoyed it quite a bit, even though I'm not really into sports games.

    Here's one.

It was very violent, and I believe it was an arcade game. As I remember, it was a fighting game like SFII except some of the characters you selected had chainsaws and others might have had cutting weapons too, I'm not sure. You could saw off limbs, do decapitations, and it had a very comical feel to it. That's pretty much all I can remember.

    Anyone know?

Alright, I have two more. I'll start with the easier one. On Genesis I played the most badass top down shooter ever. It had an insane amount of action and amazing powerups. I know that doesn't help much but the real clues are that it was about a squad of people in large ships and the game name was an acronym (you now like G.E.A.R.S or w/e) The second game should be much much harder to identify. All I remember is one of the levels you had to escape on some elevator while some big guy came after you. It's a Genesis game and I think it was a adventure and/or mystery game. Sorry I don't have more but you guys can help me.

Good guess. There actually is an elevator in OotW, though not in a chase scene. Also there's plenty of big guys.

I also think it's Out of this World.
