General Games Discussion has a new name! Primary Games Discussion forum is the place to discuss all matters of the gaming world, be it the platforms, latest in industry news, or even gaming music and movies!

Rules:

- Cross-Platform debates belong in the System Wars forum.  Exceptions are made for sales data threads, and gaming news pertaining to the consoles.

Can I tell people off here like I can in other forums?
Although the rules have changed as of the [url=http://www.gamespot.com/forums/topic/28964390/-phase-2-execution--terms-of-use-now-live]December 7 announcement[/url], the rules for this board asks for you to be respectful. We expect you to be much more friendly in this forum. That said, we understand that debate has a tendency to get heated. Just don't resort to mud-slinging and you'll be fine.

Are we now allowed to recommend games?
Of course. We just ask that you use the sticky thread, although we will no longer be disciplining users for creating new threads, unless it gets disruptive.

What about "Rate This" type threads?
Same rule applies; they are welcome, but only if they manage to provide discussion. A "why" must be provided to keep the thread from getting locked.

Does this mean I can compare platforms?
Wrong! The rules here mentions that all discussions of this nature belong in the [url=http://www.gamespot.com/forums/board/314159282/system-wars?tag=general-forums%3Btitle%3B4]System Wars[/url] forum.

I want to have a thread about Link versus Nathan Drake. Is that okay?
Yes indeed. The ban on character versus character threads has been lifted. There is, however, a catch: the thread MUST provide discussion. It cannot simply be "which do you think is better." You must provide a "why."

What is the new rule on polls and lists?
If you're going to make a poll or list thread, do your best to lay some ground work for actual discussion to spark from.
